On October 16 in the Kremlin, MTV TV channel presented the Russian Music Award-2004, the first in the history of this Russian TV channel. Serious comments sounded from the loudspeakers like: "Russian punks are marching along Red Square! And here is a column of workers in the travesty industry!"

This gave rise to the hope that everything would continue to be cool and fun. But it was not there! Characters who took the stage to present the next prize or announce a musical number most often caused bewilderment: Pavel Bure, stylist Shevchuk, makeup artist Todchuk, clip maker Mironova, model Inna Gomes, TV presenter Yulia Bordovskikh, rockers Gleb and Vadim Samoilov. Once Zhirinovsky tried to joke, but his anecdote was not the first freshness was already familiar to everyone.

The main rebel of the event was the Dolphin. Calmly accepting the news of receiving the award in the category 'Best performer' (in this nomination with Dolphin, it was announced: "A little sorry" (Philip Kirkorov), "Brigade" (Triplex), "I am free" (Kipelov), "Potabachim" (Decl), he thanked his native record company Universal and headed back to the hall, but the presenters begged him to come back. The baton was picked up by 'Leningrad', against the background of 'Gelendzhik', prosaically defeating musical instruments. It was not without a curiosity at the performance of the foreign singer Darren Hayes, who generally forgot to go on stage when his phonogram was launched.

Not a single event is complete now without the performances of Glukoza, VIA Gra and Valeria, so the first sang about her "feelings-la-la" with a whole regiment of samurai, the second, in a duet with Valery Meladze in a model furnished room, made their "hundred steps back", the third, with naked young men splashing in the water, shouted "Overflow the water", and everyone again thought: why is Prigozhin (producer and husband) not finding a hit of the "who over thirty" format for the singer ?.

Finnish musicians The Rasmus awarded 'Umaturman' with a branded emtivish matryoshka for the best debut, they themselves received an award in the category "Best Foreign Artist", beating Madonna, Britney Spears, Anastacia and Linkin Park, and then played their unforgettable 'In The Shadows', playing on smoke scene.
