American scientists have come to the conclusion that passion for work is not the best way to affect the quality and quantity of sleep. In order to come to such an obvious conclusion, experts from Pennsylvania State University did a titanic job - they studied the work schedule and sleep patterns of 48 thousand people.
On average, actively working people sleep only four hours a day - these indicators, according to doctors, are very small for maintaining normal health and well-being. Interestingly, those who sleep less than four and a half hours a night work 93 minutes more than the average employee on weekdays, and 118 minutes more on weekends. At the same time, for those who enjoy 11 or more hours of sleep, the working day is on average 143 minutes shorter.
Doctors never tire of warning that healthy sleep should be given as much attention as proper nutrition and physical activity. “We will continue to educate people on how they can improve the quality, if not the quantity, of sleep through simple changes in their lifestyle and environment,” says Jessica Alexander of the UK's Sleep Council.
Thus, the main factor affecting the quantity and quality of sleep is the length of the working day. The honorable second place goes to the amount of time it takes to travel to and from work. The least time spent sleeping takes up communication with family and friends, as well as food and small business.
It has also been observed that workaholics have a habit of sleeping off on weekends. Doctors recorded that waking hours also depended on age - the minimum sleep time was noted in the age group from 45 to 54 years old with an active work schedule. The younger the study participants were, the more stable their sleep patterns were.

Show is a diagnosis
It is usually customary to judge a person by his friends, but with the development of television and Internet technologies, we spend more and more time alone with a blue screen, while we meet with friends 1-3 times a week, or even less often. Show programs replace live communication and exchange of gossip for us, and online forums dedicated to our favorite shows replace bones with friends and discussion of the latest news.
