The atmosphere in the Bolshoi Theater is tense to the limit. Against the background of the drama that took place with the artistic director of the ballet troupe Sergei Filin, another grandiose scandal has emerged. The premier of the theater Nikolai Tsiskaridze complains of harassment by the management.

Recently Nikolai Tsiskaridze was interrogated as a witness in the case of the attack on Filin. According to the artist, there were a lot of questions, only he does not understand “what he is a witness to”.

In an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, Tsiskaridze stressed that he had no conflicts with Filin and never had. And that the leadership of the Bolshoi is banal to use the current situation against him. “I have been trying to survive for a long time, all this is shaking my nerves, and I just said:“Gentlemen, I will not voluntarily write a letter of resignation.” Because according to our legislation, only such paper can relieve me of my post. And I am shocked that against the background of this drama with Filin, there is no other thing to do but settle personal scores with the artist Tsiskaridze! Really, the public, the competent authorities will not stand up for the protection of a person, after all?"

According to Tsiskaridze, now the acting artistic director of the ballet troupe Galina Stepanenko is collecting signatures against him among the Bolshoi artists.

“When the theater press secretary and the general director begin to use this tragedy, this monstrous, vandalized case for their own purposes, accuse people working in the theater, somehow translate accents in order to use it for their own purposes, it’s monstrous,” - the prime minister is indignant.

The director of the Bolshoi Theater, Anatoly Iksanov, previously said that he was “sure of innocence” of Tsiskaridze, but in a recent interview with “Komsomolskaya Pravda” he could not resist a pin on Nikolai. “Until the culprit is found, the troupe will remain in an unhealthy environment, suspicious of each other. I think this is what the criminals were counting on. There were enough provocations against the theater, remember at least a recent letter in which there was a request to appoint Nikolai Tsiskaridze as general director. Nikolai could neither commit nor organize this atrocity. But with his unpunished behavior, he brought the situation in the theater to the point that someone else could go even further, arguing that since everything is allowed, it means that acid can be thrown into a person."
