They say that there is no woman whose hat does not suit, you just need to choose this very hat correctly. And even better - several hats, different in style and mood, but certainly combined with the rest of the things in your wardrobe.
There is no one-size-fits-all advice on choosing the right headgear - because each of us has a unique appearance and our own unique style. Therefore, a mirror will be the best advisor in this matter, but before proceeding with the choice, it is worth remembering a few general recommendations. So, how to choose the right hat for you.
Choosing a headdress,
it is best to measure it with the clothes with which you are going to wear it. Unfortunately, this is not always feasible - especially if you are buying a hat for the next season - but in large stores there is always the opportunity to try on a hat in a set with other things - it’s easier to imagine a finished look.
It is generally accepted that the hat is matched to the shape of the face. In fact, first of all, you need to pay attention to the proportions.
Large and tall hats are unlikely to serve as an adornment for a fragile and short girl, and tiny hats will look comical on a plump lady. Now we look at the face. Any headdress should harmoniously complement your look, not contradict it. So, if you have a romantic type of appearance, gentle facial features, curly hair, then clear geometric shapes are unlikely to suit you. Choose from rounded hats, soft hats, panamas and berets.
In contrast, sharpness and geometry, such as cylindrical shapes, are more suitable for pointed facial features. Owners of a thin, "aristocratic" face will organically look in some retro models: round hats in the style of the 20s, pill hats with small design delights. A striking appearance "allows" to wear unusual, avant-garde models, and the classically correct facial features are optimally combined with classic headdresses.
If you have a round face, then most likely they will suit you …
… brimmed hats. In this case, it is very important to find the right proportions - depending on your height and your build. The asymmetry will be good: fields bent from one side, offset decor. You can try on large-knit hats with a lapel. Avoid tight-fitting hats and hats that are too bulky. If you have long hair, you can experiment with scarves and fancy headbands.
If you have a triangular face, then most likely they will suit you …
… small hats. But again, not too tight. These can be hats with small brims, hats with "ears" that cover the forehead. Try trying on small berets and fedora hats, which are worn sideways. Also, scarves and kerchiefs tied in a traditional way will probably suit you - by the way, a very fashionable trend.
If you have a square face, then most likely they will suit you …
… hats with earflaps. Find the matching headwear among the sporty styles. The same earflaps can be either fur or knitted, or combined - from leather, fur, knitwear. If you want to look elegant, try on hats with the brim down. Also pay attention to the asymmetrical shapes of the hats, but avoid heavy decorations on them.
If you have an oval face, then most likely they will suit you …
… Many models of hats. But if the face is elongated, then try to turn to the "masculine" style: the current Fedora and other strict classic models will surely look good on you. Also try on wide "bohemian" berets, small hats with a deep crown and sloping brim, stylish flat-top caps. Big wide-brimmed hats and caps extended upwards are not the best idea.

A hat is the best way to create style, emphasize personality and highlight attractiveness. A correctly chosen hat is half of a successful look. I am very glad that now designers are paying great attention to hats, so there are practically no problems with choosing a suitable hat.
Retro fashion is in fashion: caps-helmets, similar to those worn in the 20s and 60s of the last century, classic hats with brims reminiscent of the 40s, high fur hats - like the protagonist of "Irony of Fate", funny “Hats” and truncated cone-shaped hats - these could be seen on the pages of fashion magazines in the early 90s. An interesting trend is ironic "rapper" hats, as a rule, elongated. In short, the range of styles is so huge that it is very difficult to bring them to a common denominator.
In the autumn collections, I really liked the small velvet hats from Etro, but this is more of an evening option. By the way, our ladies often neglect headwear for the exit - luxurious evening hats and exquisite cocktail hats - but in vain. It is very glamorous and feminine.
