The participants of the project "Beauty for a Million" are gradually moving forward in their transformation. The most serious phase of the project has come, associated with the most ambitious changes. Lina shares her impressions of plastic surgery. Meet her next diary!

Greetings to everyone who continues to follow and support me on the difficult path of change! In today's diary, I want to tell you about my first experience of plastic surgery - nose surgery.

I always thought that I would be very worried and nervous before the operation, but to my surprise, I was very calm. There was practically no excitement, because I knew that a professional in his field, Stepanyan Gevorg Khorenovich, would operate on me. He specializes in rhinoplasty, he has done many similar surgeries, so I ended up in really good hands!

When I arrived at the clinic, my doctor was already there. Before sending me to the ward, and from there to the operating room, Gevorg Khorenovich spoke to me again. I found out how I slept, how well I feel. Then there was a short conversation with the anesthesiologist, after which the nurses escorted me to the operating room.

The only thing I remember is how they injected me into a vein and told me to think about the good … That's all! I woke up already in the ward!

Opening my eyes, I didn't even immediately realize that it was over. From the anesthesia, my head was a little dizzy, while my eyes doubled and tripled. When she was able to focus her gaze, the first thing she saw was the nurse sitting next to her. She kept changing the cold compress and applying it to my face. At that moment it was unreal bliss!

The wards are designed for three people, so two more girls lay with me. As it turned out later, one of my neighbors specially came to Gevorg Khorenovich from another city for rhinoplasty

The clinic where Gevorg Khorenovich operates is very well equipped: the wards are bright, spacious, they have everything you need. And what is important after the operation - it is very quiet here, despite the large number of visitors and patients.

Some time after I woke up, they brought us lunch. I didn't have an appetite yet, but to maintain my strength, I still ate. I want to note that the food there is very tasty, and the menu is varied, not at all like in a hospital. Later I asked the administrator, it turned out that food for the patients of the clinic is ordered at a restaurant nearby.

The staff at the clinic are wonderful too! Every half hour a nurse came to me and asked if everything was in order, if I needed help, what to bring / take away. The surgeon also did not leave me unattended: several times a day he certainly went into the ward and asked how I felt.

Probably, reading my diary, you will think that these are completely ordinary and logical things. And, really, when you are not a patient, these moments seem to be commonplace. But when you are in the ward and understand that you are after a serious operation, that there is actually a new life ahead with a new face, then it is very important how the surrounding people behave: both the staff and the doctor himself. I am sincerely glad that I was lucky in this respect

Honestly, the rehabilitation period after rhinoplasty is quite difficult, it is especially difficult in the first three days. For me personally, the most difficult thing was to inhale and exhale exclusively through the mouth. From this, the mucous membrane quickly dried out, it was constantly necessary to wet it. The second unpleasant moment - you only need to lie on your back. But I understood what I was going for and was ready for it.

As soon as I "stirred", I immediately asked for a mirror - curiosity just overwhelmed! Looking at my reflection, I was pleasantly surprised: there was practically no edema, only a small bruise under the right eye and a very small bruise under the left, and my head also ached a little. At first I was delighted, but then I began to worry: "What if swelling appears in the evening, my whole face turns blue, and I turn into a kind of plum ???".

Hours passed, night approached, but my face remained the same. This made me very happy, and finally, I breathed a sigh of relief.

As for the nose itself, it did not hurt at all, I practically did not feel it. I felt only the presence of tampons, which I desperately want to get. Because of them, I practically did not sleep at night, only at about 6 in the morning I managed to fall asleep for a couple of hours.

In the morning of the second day, Gevorg Khorenovich came to our ward with a detour. He examined my nose from all sides, clarified my state of health, and then, with relief in his voice, sent me for discharge. Or was it a relief in my head? I don’t remember, for joy all my thoughts were mixed into a big ball! I know for sure, Gevorg Khorenovich said that I would need to return to the clinic the next day to remove the tampons.

After a night in the clinic, my face was the same as on the first day: the swelling and bruising did not increase, the only change was that I started sneezing, at first it was very scary. It seemed that if I sneeze, cotton swabs would immediately fly out of my nose, and perhaps the nose itself would fly away!)) But, as the doctor explained, this is normal, there is nothing to be afraid of, my nose will not go anywhere. As a result, I learned to sneeze through my mouth, which looked extremely ridiculous from the outside

As soon as the medical round was completed, I went to check out. The nurses once again spoke out the precautions and gave a reminder that indicated postoperative appointments and recommendations.

I am already at home and now I am languishing in anticipation of the removal of these extremely uncomfortable tampons from the nose. If everything goes well, then the wait will not be long - they are usually taken out on the third day after the operation. Therefore, my torment will soon come to an end, I really want to breathe not only with my mouth, but also with a new nose!

plastic surgeon's comment:

Our operation was successful, in my opinion, even perfect. For my part, I did everything necessary to prevent complications. Many patients do not even know what problems may arise after the operation: these are curvature, and retraction of bones, and failure of cartilage. But we took measures to prevent this from happening. Now healing also depends on Lina. She has to adhere to the standard rules: do not bathe in the bathroom, protect her nose from blows, do not disturb him once again. Well, do not forget about the positive attitude!

psychologist's comment:

On the eve of the operation, on the day of its performance and the first days after, all that is required of us girls is to be calm, obedient patients. Do not "cluck" anxiously, do not pester the doctor and nurses, but strictly follow the instructions. After all, the decision has already been made! The masters will do everything for you. Lina coped well with this role.

The fact that she recognized herself in the mirror and was not even afraid of her reflection was due to the professionalism of the doctors. There are such persons (especially when they correct the consequences of injuries, accidents, thoroughly break the bones of the bridge of the nose, etc.) that a person, at the sight of his reflection, falls into hysterics. The panic subsides, but it may take a week or two. With Lina, everything is neat and "human-like", so her calmness is understandable.

Well, perhaps the most uncomfortable week in physical terms lies ahead. But pay attention, Lina is in a good mood, because she looks forward to seeing her new nose more graceful. Thanks to motivation and a clear desire to achieve the goal, even intermediate discomfort is much easier to endure. So in everything: in work, in the development of a new business, in the realization of an old dream. If you are sure that the global course is correct, then it is not so difficult to endure.
