The high alert mode, which was introduced in March 2020 due to coronavirus infection, will be extended until June 14. This is stated on the official website of the mayor's office of the capital. And what will happen next? Will quarantine be extended in Moscow after this date? We will try to find out what forecasts experts give on this score.

Will the quarantine be extended until the end of June

Sergei Sobyanin extended the previously introduced high alert regime in the capital until June 14. The most long-awaited stage of lifting restrictions became possible, since the downward trend in the number of infected people in Moscow is gradually acquiring a steady character. The risk of contracting coronavirus has decreased, but has not completely disappeared.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that the imposed restrictive measures could be extended until the end of June, inclusive, if the number of infected people does not decrease, and citizens violate self-isolation.

Alexander Myasnikov believes that you still need to be extremely careful, and no matter how you want to "relax", it is better not to force events yet.

It is still too early to fully open all public institutions in the capital. It is also premature for the time being to completely abolish the wearing of gloves and protective masks, to abandon social distancing and working remotely.

What restrictions will be removed

In the capital, it is still prohibited to hold any public events; all shopping centers, cinemas, fitness centers, cafes and restaurants are also closed. But already on Monday, it will be possible to walk freely along the street and play sports in the fresh air. Workshops, dry cleaners and non-food stores will be opened.

“From June 1, the next stage of lifting restrictions will begin, within the framework of which the work of most enterprises in the service and trade sectors will be restored. Residents of the capital will be allowed to gradually go out,”wrote Sergei Sobyanin in his blog.

The message said that from the 1st, all citizens of the capital will be able to go out on the street, except for those who are on the recommended self-isolation regime and are infected with the coronavirus. In addition, citizens must not move more than 2 kilometers from their home.

Going out into the street, townspeople must take with them a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation or a copy of an apartment rental agreement. Especially for walking in mobile applications, Yandex. Maps or mos.ru will publish a special schedule for each house in the capital.

Also from next Monday they plan to open:

  • stadiums and fitness centers for training professional athletes;
  • car dealerships;
  • weekend fairs and markets (most likely from June 5);
  • laundries, dry cleaners, multiservices, household appliances, clothing and footwear repair shops that do not require long-term contact with a large number of customers;
  • shops selling non-food products;
  • bike rental. The townspeople who will use it must disinfect the steering wheel and wear rubber gloves before the trip, and the service operators must ensure that all vehicles are disinfected;
  • all squares and parks of the capital, with the exception of the central park "Zaryadye";
  • sports and playgrounds will be closed for now.

Workers of design and architectural organizations will also resume their activities in the offices, without which the entire construction industry in Moscow cannot fully function.

Unfortunately, it is not yet known whether the quarantine will be extended in Moscow after June 14. The mayor of the city, Sergei Sobyanin, offered to see how the experiment with the removal of restrictions would work. In two weeks, a decision will be made on the final withdrawal of the quarantine or its further extension.
