According to the chief infectious disease specialist of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA), Vladimir Nikiforov, the outbreak of infection should subside at the beginning of this summer, and the peak incidence is predicted in Russia in mid-April.

Vladimir Nikiforov announced this on the air of the Dok-Tok program on Channel One. He also added that the decline in the outbreak will continue for 10-12 weeks, comparing COVID-19 with SARS.

According to the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, the situation with coronavirus infection in Russia is proceeding according to a favorable scenario. He shared this with RIA Novosti.

Recall that the head of the Russian state, Vladimir Putin, on April 2, in his next televised address to the population, called for an extension of the self-isolation regime due to the spread of coronavirus infection until the end of April 2020.

The President of Russia noted that it is possible to make additional decisions related to the fight against coronavirus infection. It all depends on the development of the situation. The head of state also said that the announced quarantine could be reduced if the epidemiological situation allows.
