From February 1, 2020, new amounts of child allowances have been established. How much the payments have increased, the features and the list of subsidies are described in the Federal Law No. 81-FZ of May 19, 1995. Let's consider the changes in detail.

New payments to children from February 1

All benefits and compensations were indexed by the Government of the Russian Federation by 3%. Taking into account the peculiarities of receiving funds, from February 2020, children's payments, which are provided for by the federal law "On State Benefits to Citizens with Children", will be provided in a new amount.

The overwhelming number of social benefits, which are set at a fixed rate, increase every year in February. The increase depends on the inflation rate, that is, it is directly related to the rise in consumer prices.

Thanks to the annual increase in social benefits, it is possible to partially compensate for the depreciation of money for the inflation rate. Such support from the state allows keeping the purchasing power of citizens who do not have a stable financial income and receive benefits at the same level.

Changes in the child care allowance up to three years

All changes and features of the payment of child benefits under three years old were fixed by Federal Law No. 418-FZ of December 28, 2017. From 2020, as a result of indexation, new sizes are in effect. When forming the amount of the allowance, a parameter is used that is valid on the territory of a specific region of Russia.

In addition, several rules apply to this benefit:

  • payments can be made until the child is one year old. After that, the child's representative applies for benefits until the age of two, and then until three;
  • when the child turns three years old, payments stop;
  • families who have an income per family member that does not exceed two subsistence levels established in a particular region can count on the allowance.

Help for families with children

In some regions of the country, families with children may receive additional funds for a child under seven years of age. This financial assistance is provided for the purchase of children's goods, food, etc. Families can receive the payment:

  • in which the child, as well as both or one of the parents, does not have Russian citizenship, for example, refugees;
  • in which the second parent does not pay alimony for the upbringing and maintenance of common children;
  • military personnel;
  • in which the child is raised by one parent.

The main thing is that at the time of registration of payments, the families claiming them actually live in the region where the allowance will be paid.
