At one time, she managed to defeat oncology. So it was no longer difficult to gain popularity among Russian readers. According to media reports, Daria Dontsova topped the list of the most published authors in Russia for the fourth time in a row.

In a recent interview with Trud, the popular writer boasted that both law enforcement officers and persons temporarily staying in places not so distant read her with gusto.

“I am a favorite writer in many colonies. Seriously. Moreover, both the heads of the prisons and the prisoners treat me very well. The fact is that I sent out a lot of books to prison libraries, and not only mine. These libraries were in a terrible state, no one already remembered when the last receipts were. But after all, different people are serving their sentences, not only complete criminals, there are many people in prisons who have been imprisoned for stupidity."

“And I also have a lot of respect for the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, although now it is not customary to talk about it, they are more often scolded,” the writer noted. - Therefore, in all my books, the police are good. And the police reciprocate my sympathies. So it turns out that I am loved on both sides of the barricades, which I am very proud of."

Therefore, it is not surprising that over the past year, Dontsova's books were released with a circulation of 5.4 million copies.

Behind her in the list compiled by Rospechat are Yulia Shilova (4 million), Tatyana Ustinova (1.8 million), as well as Tatyana Polyakova and Alexandra Marinina. All of them, like Dontsova, write detective stories.

As for foreign writers, in 2010 Arthur Conan Doyle became the most published in Russia with a circulation of 1.9 million copies. Behind him are Alexandre Dumas (1.5 million) and the author of the Twilight saga, Stephenie Meyer, who topped a similar list last year.
