The creation of the first Valentine is attributed to Charles, Duke of Orleans (1415), who was sitting at that time in prison, in solitary confinement, and who decided to fight boredom by writing love letters to his wife. However, valentines reached their greatest heyday by the eighteenth century. At the beginning of the 19th century, the mass production of valentines began. At first, these were black and white drawings, hand-drawn in a factory.

And one of the first declarations of love, which is usually sent on February 14th, was recently discovered in one of the British libraries. This letter was written almost 500 years ago, in 1477. It will be presented to the public for the first time this March at the Millennium Exhibition of English Literature. In the message, the girl asks the young man to prove that he really loves her. She says that she will get her mother to increase her dowry, and he must marry her at all costs.

But by tradition, be sure to attach a handmade valentine to any gift. It can be a simple heart cut out of paper, but you can use several non-standard approaches. So, for example, in order not to spoil the valentine with your handwriting, you can cut out words from old newspapers and magazines and compose your message from them. Then neatly pasted them in the right order on the Valentine's card - it turned out beautifully and outside the box. A girl can leave prints of her lips instead of a signature (i.e. kiss a valentine with painted lips). You can also send a valentine by E-mail. Or you can create your own favorite page on the Internet. Valentines are given not only to loved ones, but also to people with whom you have friendly feelings. Everyone will be pleased to receive from you a small heart on which a few warm words will be written.

The hardest part about making a Valentine is the text. Of course, there must necessarily be the words: "I love you." Otherwise, it all depends on your own imagination. For example, a banal message: "Darling! I love you, even more than myself. My feeling is growing stronger every day and soon I will no longer be able to imagine my life without you." Or "Love me as I love you." The following message may sound original: "You, like a laser beam, crossed my life and remained a stable interference pattern in it. When you pass by, I feel like an absolutely black body, since I absorb absolutely all the wavelengths emitted by you. However, you always hold on from me at a focal length. You and I are like two atoms in the nodes of a crystal lattice. Do you remember that we studied various types of deformations? And I want to believe that as a result of one of them, you and I will become even a little closer."

A romantic message can sound something like this: "I love and just can't imagine life without you. For me you are a sip of spring water in the stormy ocean of existence. You are a free soaring flight of a bird that has been imprisoned for a long time. Only you, you alone, allow me to enjoy intoxicating freedom of feelings. Only with you, at least for a while, I manage to break away from mundane everyday worries in your arms. Every time I look forward to your arrival. But, despite this, you still manage to appear imperceptibly, although I anticipate your approach is intuitive, with all your being. My beloved, why are the minutes with you like lightning flashes? Why does the bitterness of parting so quickly come, do I have to wait? To wait, alone with you, to feel your numbness and tenderness in order to become myself again. But the waiting time is not so scary, because I know for sure - you will come. You will come, so that it does not happen, my unique, You just cannot but come. And no one is in I can take you away from me, my only one."
