Meghan Markle's neglected royals' baptism traditions

For 166 years this particular garment was used for the baptism of royal babies, but after that it was placed in a museum, otherwise it would have collapsed due to dilapidation. The new baptismal gown was made at the request of Elizabeth II. She became a complete copy of her predecessor.

Secondly, for the baptism of all royal babies, it was necessary to use the Lily font and a silver jug. The baptismal font was made at the behest of the same Victoria in 1840. It is a silver, ornate vessel made by British jewelers. All these attributes are stored in a special storage in the Tower and are received only on the day of baptism.

Thirdly, babies were baptized only using water from the Jordan River, in which, according to Scripture, Jesus Christ himself was baptized.

Fourth, the ceremony was certainly performed by a priest performing the duties of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Baptism must take place in the church of the Anglican Church, which is under the leadership of Elizabeth II. And certainly in the presence of the Queen herself. Not a single baptism of a newborn baby took place without her participation.

Fifth, all those invited to the celebration were treated to a special dessert, the basis of which was a cake from a cake saved from the marriage of the baby's parents. This cake was kept under special conditions in a specially designated place until the moment of baptism.

Sixth, the list of godparents was announced without fail to British subjects, photos from the baptism and portraits of all members of the royal family were published.

Obviously, the first 5 points will be impossible to complete. Megan and Harry decided to baptize baby Lily in California, which automatically rejects all the possibilities of using special attributes. Neither a shirt nor a font with a jug will be exported from Britain to another country. The Priest and Queen, like the rest of the royal family, will not travel to America to baptize a child.
