Former "Beatle" Paul McCartney has been one of the main romantics on the planet for 50 years. There was a lot of love in his life. But the main women in his life are his first wife Linda Eastman and his current wife Nancy Shevell.
Wedding
The wedding of 69-year-old Paul with 51-year-old Nancy took place on October 9, 2011 in London. The bride wore a short, stylish ivory gown designed by Paul's daughter Stella McCartney. Nancy looked adorable and at least half her age. Interestingly, the wedding took place in the same Old Marylebone Town Hall in the Westminster area, where McCartney married Linda Eastman more than 40 years ago. The ceremony was attended by only 30 guests, including former The Beatles member Ringo Starr, McCartney's children from marriage to Linda: Heather, Stella, Mary and James, as well as 8-year-old Beatrice, who was born to Heather Mills.
After the official registration, the newlyweds held a party at the McCartney house in London's St. John's Wood. Guests included Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, model Kate Moss and, of course, the groom's grown-up children. The banquet ended well after midnight, and the neighbors even had to call the police to ask the cheering guests to "turn down the sound."
According to rumors, the day before, Paul and Nancy had visited the synagogue to conduct a ceremony in accordance with the traditions of Judaism, as Nancy wanted. After the official wedding, Nancy received the right to be called Lady McCartney, because Paul was knighted.
Only about £ 50,000 was spent on the wedding, which is in stark contrast to the £ 1.5m that McCartney paid for his marriage to Heather Mills. Then 300 guests were invited. It seems that this time the newlyweds do not care what others think of them. They wanted to throw a party for family and close friends. Maybe Paul has finally found his soul mate?
Search for the ideal
Paul's first girlfriend appeared at the age of 17. She had a very unusual name for Liverpool Leila. The girl was a little older than her boyfriend and was already trying to start an adult life, working as a nanny. Sometimes Paul, who was in love, went to work with Leila, and the teenagers, in their free time from hugs and sighs, looked after other people's children together.
However, Leila soon gave her young friend a resignation, and McCartney began dating another beauty named Dorothy Rowne. The musician decided to make an ideal woman out of his girlfriend and, as they say, he picked her clothes and makeup, and once even paid a hairdresser to cut the girl's hair like Brigitte Bardot - then he was obsessed with the image of this actress. With Dot, Paul had the most serious intentions. They dated for three years. When she became pregnant, Paul proposed to her, and a wedding date was set. But then Dot had a miscarriage, and the couple could not cope with this grief. They separated.
Paul's next girlfriend was British actress Jane Asher. They met in 1963 when a photographer asked them to pose together for a picture. Soon McCartney moved to Jane's parents' house, where, inspired by love, he wrote the famous songs Yesterday, And I Love Her, You Won't See Me. After the couple moved to McCartney's own house, and it was already going to the wedding. And then after five years of romance, Jane found Paul in bed with another, and they broke up.
The first official wife of Paul McCartney was Linda Eastman, a photographer from the United States, who managed to become for Paul a faithful companion, muse, friend, lover and mother of his children. They met in 1967 when Linda came to the UK to photograph local musicians for a series of Swinging Sixties culture shots. For McCartney, these were difficult times when the days of The Beatles were numbered and the musician needed to find himself again. In 1969, Linda and Paul were married. By the time of the wedding, Mrs. McCartney already had a daughter, Heather, from her first marriage, whom Paul, without hesitation, adopted, and over the years the couple had three more children together: Stella McCartney, who became a famous designer, Mary, who decided to follow in the footsteps of her mother and become a photographer, and James, who took up music, poetry and sculpture.
Most likely, Linda would forever remain Paul's only wife and "the light of his life", but their happy long-term marriage was interrupted by a tragedy: in 1998, Linda died of breast cancer.
A year after the strike, Paul began an affair with former model and anti-personnel mine activist Heather Mills. McCartney warned that the pretty blonde might be a money hunter, but the musician was not listening to anyone. And he paid for his mistake. The marriage, concluded in 2002, brought Paul only one "spoonful of honey" in a full barrel of ointment: in 2003, the couple had a daughter, Beatrice. As soon as the girl was 3 years old, the couple announced their separation, and two years later they divorced. The divorce cost McCartney nearly $ 50 million, and his dirty laundry was rinsed in the newspapers for a long time.
Nancy
The musician met the heiress of a giant transport company, millionaire Nancy Shevell in the late 80s, when he traveled across the United States with Linda. According to rumors, they were introduced to each other by a mutual friend, TV presenter Barbara Walters. A pretty woman for a long time remained only a friend of the McCartney family. She married lawyer Bruce Blakeman. (By the way, her only son is now 19 years old). And then at some point, Paul saw Nancy in a new light. They started dating when he was still officially married to Heather Mills. Nancy for the sake of McCartney finally broke up with her first husband. As soon as Shevell got a divorce, she and Paul announced their engagement.
Shevell has a lot in common with McCartney's first wife Linda. Both of them grew up on the East Coast in the United States, among wealthy, educated people. Like Linda, Nancy at one time suffered from breast cancer. But, fortunately, she managed to escape from the clutches of the disease.
“I just love being in love,” Paul said back in 2008, when his romance with Nancy was gaining momentum. This relationship was immediately approved by the eldest daughter of the musician Stella. And little Beatrice called her future stepmother “wonderful”.
According to rumors, Sir Paul, who was so burned in his second marriage, did not conclude a prenuptial agreement.
