This year New York celebrated the New Year under the motto "Let there be friendship." Three hundred sparkling edges of a crystal ball have formed an ornament depicting people holding hands.

Immediately after the balloon was launched, confetti - colorful leaves - fell on the heads of the celebrants. New Year's wishes were written in 25 languages. A week before the new year, everyone who wanted to could come to Times Square to the New Year's Wishes Wall and write their wishes on a small piece of paper. The total weight of the confetti was over a ton.
