Famous designer Catherine Walker, Princess Diana's favorite fashion designer, has passed away in Britain. 65-year-old Mrs. Walker has been fighting breast cancer for several years, but, unfortunately, the disease has won.

Catherine Walker was born in France. In her youth, she studied at the institute, at the Faculty of Philosophy, but in the end she decided to devote herself to fashion. In 1977, she opened her own atelier on Sydney Street in the Chelsea area. Dresses, which in beauty and luxury were not inferior to the works of famous couturiers, became her hallmark. Catherine Walker's first women's collection was presented in 1980. Subsequently, she refocused on the creation of mainly evening and wedding dresses.

“It's insanely difficult to dress an official. You are bound hand and foot by protocol - there is almost no room for a flight of imagination, - once Katherine remarked about the peculiarities of the style of her clients.

Catherine Walker & Co. there were such celebrities as Joylee Richardson, Olivia Williams, Amanda Holden, Emilia Fox, Lucy Liu, as well as representatives of the royal family: Viscountess Linley, Helen Taylor, Gabriella Windsor.

In 1990, Catherine Walker was named Designer of the Year award for British Couture. The following year, the fashion designer was honored with an award from Glamor magazine.

Separately, it should be said about Princess Diana. For Lady Dee, Catherine Walker created a lot of outfits that later became iconic. For the first time in a dress from a British designer, Diana appeared in public three months after her wedding with Prince William in 1981. By the way, Lady Dee was buried in a black Walker dress, which the princess acquired a few weeks before her tragic death in 1997.
