Lady Dee would celebrate her 50th birthday on July 1st. It is not yet known if there will be any events in memory of the princess at Buckingham Palace. Although the auction house Reeman Dansie has already prepared a surprise for Her Highness's fans.

Letters and postcards written by Princess Diana in the 1980s are up for auction on June 21.

The messages are addressed to the friend of the princess, the former director of one of the London schools, Margaret Hodge. The organizers of the auction received letters from Hodge herself.

Her collection contains letters from 20-year-old Diana, who has just married Prince Charles. For example, a couple's honeymoon letter written in 1981. Diana writes: "I'm not just happy, I'm in seventh heaven." Letter after the birth of the first child, William, now the Duke of Cambridge: "We just can't tear ourselves away from the envelope making such sweet sounds." Diana and three-year-old William visited Santa Claus: "He was not at all afraid, very smartly told what gifts he wanted - the list would be as long as an arm." On the fifth anniversary of the wedding, Prince Harry was already born: "Five years have just flown away, flew by … Which is not surprising when you bring up two little men."

Margaret Hodge is confident that Diana would approve of the choice of her son, Prince William, and be proud of Catherine, his chosen one.

“She was a very busy lady, but she always found time to drop me a line,” says Hodge. “Diana loved Charles very much. And I really wanted to be loved by him,”she adds.

According to preliminary estimates of the organizers of the auction, the collection of letters from Diana could be sold for at least 20 thousand pounds, writes Lenta.ru with reference to The Daily Mail.
