The Musical Theater of National Art of Vladimir Nazarov, which previously performed under the guise of the State Musical Theater, became independent and is mastering new Moscow scenes. He will open his first theatrical season with the grandiose premiere of the musical The Mystery of Turandot, which will take place on 24 September at the Theater Hall of the Moscow International House of Music.
During the season, the theater performances will be presented not only in the House of Music, but also on the Small Stage of the Theater. Obraztsov, and at the theater of Nadezhda Babkina "Russian Song". The performances "The Brothers Karamazov", "Letter to God", "Mother of Jesus" and others will be shown.
Young viewers will be able to see such performances as "Aibolit and Barmaley", "Mukha-Tsokotukha", "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", and adults - the musical "Fiddler on the Roof". In addition, the theater will give 30 performances of the children's musical performance "Cinderella" during the New Year holidays.
As for the musical "The Riddle of Turandot", based on the play by Carlo Gozzi, its plot is kept as close as possible to the original source.
Carlo Gozzi looked at the Chinese fairy tale through the eyes of an Italian, making the traditional mask characters of the Italian comedy del arte the ministers of the Chinese king: Truffaldino, Pantalone, Brighella and Tartaglia.
The role of Turandot will be performed by the young actress Christina Koles, recently announced by journalists as “Dima Bilan’s new girlfriend”.
