After the first attempt, Vanessa took the last, 74th place with a score of 1 minute 44, 86 seconds. Nevertheless, many sports observers recognize the girl's performance as successful, since the track is quite difficult and 16 skiers were not able to complete the descent at all.

May herself has already stated that she is quite proud of herself. “I will take part in the second attempt today,” she says. - Assessing my performance, I must say that it was really cool. The last place did not come as a surprise to me, I expected such a result. Before the start, I told myself that if I can perform here, I will do it first of all for myself. I have promised that I will donate a large amount to charities that advocate for the protection of animals."

Since the age of four, May has been fond of alpine skiing. In 2010, she received permission to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics for the Thailand cross-country skiing team. Earlier in the history of sports in Thailand, only one representative of this country took part in the Winter Olympics. May has British citizenship, but, as the star explained, she had little chance of making her way to the British national team, so she decided to play for Thailand.

Vanessa also emphasized that she likes the risk of slalom. “Life is generally a risky thing, it can surprise any day. And it is not so important for me how my rivals will perform here, because I want to enjoy my own performance first of all”.
