The film is based on the novel of the same name by Annie Weatherwax. According to Holmes, she had been choosing projects for her directorial debut for a long time, after reading the book Weatherwax, she realized that this was exactly what she needed. “You see, I liked the idea of this book - superheroes drive broken cars and never, under any circumstances, leave their children. I really liked this topic, - said the star in a recent interview with Variety.
