The appearance of a child often changes the attitude of his parent towards life. It is not yet known how exactly Elton John's worldview changed with the advent of his son, but the singer's image can indeed be somewhat corrected. The famous musician and his partner David Farnish have been nominated for the British Father of the Year award.

John and Farnish became the first gay couple to be shortlisted for the award. This clearly shows that the British public is not at all conservative.

The Best Father Award ceremony will take place on June 19, when Father's Day is celebrated. The award is given to famous parents who, according to the expert committee, were the best able to find a balance between parenting responsibilities, work and social life.

The founder of the award is the largest British hotel chain Premier Inn.

For the title of the best father this year, footballers Wayne Rooney (together with his wife Colin, he is raising a son) and David Beckham (the athlete and his wife Victoria have three sons, and a daughter is due to be born soon), as well as TV presenter Jonathan Ross (three children), member of the group Take That Gary Barlow (three children) and other British celebrities, reports Lenta.ru.

Recall that John and Farnish became parents in December 2010. Zachary Jackson Levon Farnish-John was born in California to a surrogate mother (her name is kept secret), and both dads were present at the birth.

Which of the spouses became the biological father of the child is unknown. They both consider themselves dads. “Every day we look at Zachary and see that he inherited Elton's nose and my hands,” said David. - He's our son. The most important thing is that he is healthy, happy and loved."
