The corresponding letter with a request for personal negotiations with the politician was addressed by the actress to the Russian Embassy in the United States. “Perhaps having lunch or dinner together would be very nice. In early July, Anderson asked the Russian president to block the Northern Sea Route for a ship carrying finwhale meat from Iceland to Japan. As the star recalled, the fin whale is endangered. However, the Ministry of Nature explained that Russia has no legal basis for the detention of the vessel.
The celebrity stressed that, in her opinion, Russia can play a large role in reducing the demand for skins of seals from Canada, which are killed in large quantities every year. “I would like to assess how effective Russia's intervention in this situation can be, which worries many,” the actress explained.
Anderson noted that if Putin for some reason cannot accept her, she is ready to talk with the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia, Sergei Donskoy. Reportedly, Donskoy has already expressed his readiness to meet with the American actress in case of her appeal to the ministry to discuss issues of environmental protection.
