Today, Los Angeles residents light candles in churches in memory of the legendary fellow countryman. As the tabloids crush his first successful book, The Martian Chronicles, Bradbury drove a literary agent to New York, barely raising money for the trip. And already on his next visit to this city he was besieged by fans trying to get an autograph from the writer.

World fame Bradbury brought the novel "Fahrenheit 451". As the writer explained, in this work he expressed his attitude to the book - the emblem of wisdom and knowledge, which, according to the writer, is able to save a person from the dictatorship of base aspirations, to give peace and harmony to reason. He firmly believed that without a big dream and without the ability to read, civilization could not exist.

At 90 years old, Ray Bradbury started the day by sitting down to write, putting the rest of the business off until later. The writer was sure that each new story prolongs his life.

"To live to 90 years old, you need to fully love life"

From the pen of Bradbury came hundreds of short stories, many scripts and a dozen novels. Books were published almost every year: the last major novel "Goodbye Summer!" was released in 2006, guaranteeing itself the fame of a bestseller even before it hit the shelves.

“Bradbury is probably America's greatest science fiction writer and a man who does not fit into the boundaries of the genre. America can be proud of this writer who has influenced the whole world,”says science fiction writer Sergei Lukyanenko.

“To live to 90 years old, you need to fully love life. I have loved and love every day of my life. I remember how I was born, and even remember myself in the womb. I want you to look back to your past. Maybe you can become as great lovers of life as I am. The meaning of life is in love. This is my gift to you,”reads the text of the order posted on the Internet portal of the University of California at Los Angeles for the 90th anniversary of the classic of world fiction.
