Scientists at Queens University in Belfast claim that the dog is truly man's best friend. It is this animal that optimally affects the psyche and health of people.

Dog owners have lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels, the researchers found. Also, dog owners are less likely to catch colds, they have less frequent headaches, and they are less likely to get a serious illness.

Most likely, the whole point is that animals help relieve stress. And good nerves are the key to excellent health. Owning a dog often changes the behavior of the person himself, who becomes more sociable and also shows more physical activity.

Cat ownership also has health benefits, but not to the same extent as dog ownership, according to the RSN.

Scientists continue to study the effects of pets on human health, despite the fact that more recently, another study has proven that there is no scientifically proven relationship between the presence of animals in the house and the health of the owners.

The French Association for the Protection of Animals said some time ago that the presence of a dog in the house by almost one third reduces the risk of a heart attack among the owners. And that even simple daily stroking of an animal on the coat significantly lowers blood cholesterol.

And studies in the United States have shown that interacting with dogs relieves stress and activates positive emotions. True, American researchers did not bother themselves with scientific terminology. According to them, a dog loyal to the owner "intuitively cleans his diseased organ of negative energy, taking it over." At the same time, a person receives clearly tangible relief: pain decreases, the hemoglobin content in the blood increases, and vitality increases markedly.

The theory about positive emotions caused by animals, which affect the nerves and thus make the body stronger, is most common.
