A farewell ceremony for the "iron lady" Baroness Margaret Thatcher is ending in London. More than two thousand famous people gathered to pay the last tribute to the former prime minister: politicians, ministers, actors, members of the royal family. Fulfilled the last will of the deceased and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth II). She personally attended the funeral service with her husband, Prince Philip.

Palace protocol requires you to appear in black only at funerals. And Her Majesty strictly observes the rules. At St. Paul's Cathedral, where the funeral service is being held, Elizabeth II arrived in advance, expressed support for the Thatcher family, and talked with Prime Minister David Cameron.

The monarch attended the farewell ceremony for the British politician for the first time in half a century.

As noted by secular observers, the country's first lady Samantha Cameron slightly violated the dress code and appeared in a black suit and a slightly frivolous (in this case) beige polka dot blouse.

The Duchess of York, opera singer Katherine Jenkins, TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, actress Joan Collins also came to say goodbye to the Baroness. All former prime ministers, members of the Thatcher cabinet of ministers, now living presidents (Mikhail Gorbachev could not attend for health reasons) of the partner countries were invited to the ceremony. Almost everyone with whom the "iron lady" had a good relationship during her lifetime.

The funeral service was conducted by the rector of St. Paul's Cathedral David Ison, fragments of the Holy Scriptures were read by Thatcher's 19-year-old granddaughter Amanda and David Cameron, then the Archbishop of Canterbury prayed for the audience, and the coffin with the body of the former prime minister was taken out of the cathedral, accompanied by members of the Thatcher family. Thatcher's ashes will be buried in the cemetery of the Royal Veterans' Hospital in Chelsea, next to her husband's grave.
