According to the tabloids, the death of the artist was almost instantaneous. Feeling unwell, Savinov called an ambulance, but the doctors arrived too late. The theater still cannot believe what happened.

In 1988, the future artist graduated from the Yaroslavl Theater School. He worked at the Stavropol Regional Academic Drama Theater, was involved in many performances. Since 2004 he has joined the troupe of the Moscow Drama Theater "Soprachastnost". Among his works in the theater are such roles as Myshlaevsky in Bulgakov's White Guard and Petruchio in Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Savinov also played in the performances "Talents and Admirers" by Ostrovsky, "Ideal Husband" by Wilde, "Fox and Grapes" by Ksanth and others.

Vasily Nikolayevich often starred in films and television series, including "Brownie", "Kamenskaya", "Daddy's Daughters", "Doctor Zhivago", "Give Youth!", "Trace" and others. One of the last works of Savinov was the mystical detective "The Fifth Guard" (2012). He also agreed to star in Ren-TV's new project, The Secret City, which was slated to premiere in the fall.

According to colleagues, Vasily Nikolaevich could not be categorized as actors with characteristic roles. A memorable appearance, bright temperament and organic nature allowed him to successfully play on the stage of the theater, and act in films in the role of various characters.
