Most women actively use skin moisturizers in the hope of slowing down aging and wrinkle formation. But how effective are these tactics? Recently, a theory has emerged among experts that foods containing certain substances may be more effective than conventional skin care cosmetics. And some scientists are absolutely sure that “beauty products” have a great future.

As you know, with age, the skin produces collagen (the main protein of connective tissue responsible for elasticity) and hyaluronic acid more slowly, which leads to the formation of wrinkles. The synthesis process begins to slow down on average from the age of 25 by about 1.5% per year, and by the age of 45 it can decrease by 30%.

Most cosmetic moisturizers form a film on the skin that traps moisture. However, some experts believe that conventional moisturizers can ultimately lead to dry and irritated skin.

At the same time, scientists are developing a theory according to which the consumption of products containing collagen and hyaluronic acid inhibits skin aging and even reverses it.

In 2001, experts tested how a daily intake of 240 milligrams of hyaluronic acid can help people with chronic dry skin. As a result, it was found that the dryness and redness gradually disappeared.

For example, scientists from Germany found that people who consumed 2.5-5 grams of collagen daily reduced wrinkles, writes Meddaily.ru. They had 65% more procollagen, which turns into complete collagen, and 18% more elastin. The maximum reduction in wrinkles was almost 50%. The theory was also confirmed by research by Japanese pros. According to their observations, skin condition improves if 10,000 milligrams of collagen are consumed every day.

Now scientists are enthusiastically talking about a new direction in the beauty industry - “beauty products”. However, for convincing claims, more research is still needed.
