Something will remain in the boxes, but something will take pride of place on the shelves and coniferous branches. Everyone has their favorite time-tested jewelry. From year to year they are used to create the appropriate atmosphere. And the "oldies" do an excellent job with the task. But … from time to time, the owners of rarities catch themselves thinking: "Shouldn't I introduce something new!"

Why not? From scrap materials, you can create original decorative elements. Will we find out how to add a touch of freshness to the New Year's interior decoration?

1. Candlesticks made of old springs

We bet that everyone has a hidden corner in the house, where boxes with special "treasures" are kept - things that you can't put into business anymore, but it's a pity to throw them away? Dig into them as you should.

If you're lucky, you will find some old springs. And believe me, this is the best base for Christmas candlesticks. You won't even have to redo them especially. Cleaning and partial polishing will be enough.

Are you ready to try it? Then get some more: old music books, Christmas tree branches, pine cones, candles and small glass containers. Now you can start!

So, let's start with a minute of barbarism - you will have to gut the notes, disassembling them into sheets. They will need to be shaped like a cone. This can be done in two ways:

  • wide funnel - cut a circle out of the sheet, conditionally divide it into four parts, cut off one of the sections (1/4), fold the workpiece and glue the edges;
  • narrow funnel - cut a semicircle, bring the ends together, secure.

But if you want to simplify the process, then you can use a quick technique a la a bag for seeds. Not so neat, of course, but without any extra effort.

What's next? Putting the structure together! We insert, alternating: into one spring - a glass container and a candle, into the other - a paper cone filled with cones and Christmas tree branches. We put them one after another in the chosen place - voila, the New Year's composition is ready!

2. Pyramids from spools of thread

Each time, evaluating some next miracle of design thought, we think: “Probably, it was difficult to come up with and implement all this. I will never repeat this …"

You shouldn't doubt yourself! There are things that can be easily recreated. Moreover, you can even bring your own into them by changing the details and colors. You just need to find a suitable original to copy. And it seems we have what we need! Meet the trendy design decor - reel pyramids. Why not an option? Everything is simple to the point. All you need is: about fifteen bobbins of different diameters, wire and different-sized beads for decoration. What are we doing? We remember our childhood and put the coils one on top of the other: down the big one, then the middle one, and on the top - the smallest one. We attach them to each other in any convenient way, for example, using glue. Or, if you plan to disassemble the structure after the holidays, you can simply put the bobbins on the knitting needle.

Ready? Move on. Unwind the thread of the upper spool a little and wind it on a thin wire. From the last grip of a hat, a tube and a star. We supplement the pyramids with the newly created elements. It turns out a kind of little snowmen. We decorate their "suits" with bead buttons. We place the reel-to-reel dolls on the shelf, hang stars over them and lay out the extra bobbins around. However, everyone can decide for themselves what to use to create an artistic mess. But some New Year's paraphernalia must be present. Have they put everything out? We leave and admire the work of our own hands!

3. Christmas decorations from cutlery

We have long been looking at some household items casually, getting used to their utility. And who would have guessed that a small modification could turn them into a piece of art. Believe it or not, we are talking about ordinary forks and spoons! It is enough to make a little effort, and the usual cutlery will become unusual Christmas tree decorations. Of course, the degree of their sophistication will depend entirely on the artistic talents of the owners. But it is worth trying even if fine art is not your strong point. At least, the output is guaranteed to get something original and unique. After all, each author's product will be somewhat different from its counterparts. Well, let's get started …

You will need: fork and tablespoon, alcohol-based liquid, acrylic paints for metal and different-sized brushes.

Let's start with the fork: the basic version involves turning it into Santa Claus, but you can come up with something of your own. The first step is shaping the handle and prongs. We bend the ends so that on one side we get a hook, and on the other … a beard. Namely, the teeth will look like it after staining. Speaking of paints, it's time to move on to the second stage. We clean the surface with an alcohol-based liquid and apply white paint to the tip of the pen and the upper half of the fork (including the teeth), let the layer dry. Move on to the red color - paint over most of the handle. Wait for the paint to dry again, and then draw the face and the remaining details. The toy is ready!

The procedure for working with a spoon is the same as with a fork. But the alteration options are more numerous, because the surface is larger and the shape is more versatile. You can draw anything. For example, a snowman by a Christmas tree, as in our photo example. Connect your imagination and go for it!

4. New Year's pendants from paint brushes

Let's go back to our treasure boxes. What do you think, if we dig into them well, we won't get a few paint brushes in our hands? It is quite possible, because there is something, and old brushes are almost never thrown away. They are conscientiously soaked in solvents at the end of the repair work and carefully stacked somewhere in the attic or in the basement. Well, it's time to give them new life! How about turning them into original Christmas pendants? Doubt? We take out the trump card - they can be returned to their original form after the holidays … well, except that the color of the handles will change for the better. Moreover, the rework will not take long. And even a minimum of additional details will be needed: several buttons of different shapes and sizes, pieces of fur, colored fabric and paints. Will you take the risk?

It's simple. We will turn the brushes into Santa Clauses! Let's start by painting the wooden handles red. Later you can paint over white stars. Next, cut a small piece of white fur to the size of the brush base. We glue it over the bristles - this will be a hat (if you don't want to spoil the brush, you can sew a fur ring and just put it on the handle). We attach two small dark buttons to the iron border - these are the eyes. Place the large convex button a little lower - this is the nose. Well, we already have a beard - it's stubble. That's all! The gimbal is ready. We make a few more of the same and hang it like a garland in any suitable place.

5. Deer from wine corks

In fact, you can make a lot of interesting things out of scrap materials. For example, wine corks easily turn into Rudolphs reindeer.

6. Little people made of wire and paper

From ordinary wire and paper, you can make masterpiece sketches on the New Year's theme, as, for example, the French artist Isabelle Guiot Hullot does.

Her work is really inspiring! After looking at a few photo examples, you will definitely want to create something like this. After all, the materials are readily available and the technique is simple.

7. The simplest and most beautiful New Year's decor

And finally, an option that will suit everyone, without exception. This method of creating a New Year's decor is the number 1 choice for those who do not like to glue, paint and cut. The minimum of actions is the maximum result.

Take a beautiful transparent container, put balls, cones or Christmas tree branches in it. Light them up with a garland of white bulbs. Everything! Looks amazing, done in a couple of minutes.
