What kind of wine is allowed to drink during Lent?

According to the charter of the Orthodox Church, it is customary to choose Saturday and Sunday for drinking wine, as well as any holidays that fall within this period: Palm Sunday, Annunciation, etc. The only exceptions are the first and last weeks of fasting - these are the most stringent periods. As for the final Saturday before Easter, it is forbidden to consume any alcoholic beverages at all.

As a result, it turns out that there will be only 11 days when it is allowed to consume wine during Great Lent. These are March 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29, April 4, 5, 7, 11, 12.

If we talk about what kind of wine is allowed during Great Lent, then it is better to take the consecrated one. You can buy it in the shop at the church. This wine is specially diluted with water, due to this it will not be too strong. It is better to drink it only on the days when it is allowed to do so, and no more than 1 glass a day.
