Several years ago, scientists discovered that Oscar-winning directors live longer than their peers. And the example of the famous Russian cinematographer Vladimir Menshov confirms this in some way. Today, September 17, Vladimir Valentinovich celebrates his 75th birthday. The hero of the day is full of strength, vigorous and is thinking of making a new picture about an era of change.

Vladimir Menshov came to the cinema as an actor in 1972, made his debut as a director in 1976, and two years later began filming his cult film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears." The tape was released in 1979 and almost immediately became incredibly popular. So today, an artist can rightfully celebrate a double anniversary, although he does not like it too much. “You cannot escape from a double anniversary, although I would have escaped with pleasure,” says Vladimir Valentinovich.

In an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda, the artist also shared his life wisdom and reminded that you should not ignore your talents in any case. “The main thing is to choose your own line. Words are worn out, but how many people around are following the prescribed, repeat the path of their parents. I think: if you feel some kind of talent, do not bury it in the ground, but pull it out in every possible way. This is the first thing. And the second, very important, is to marry correctly! Your wife should be a friend in whom you are confident, who will not only tie socks and cook borscht, but also to whom you will rush to tell what you did or did not succeed. And even if everyone says "it worked out" and she says "no" - believe her! It is extremely important to define a system of values ”.

By the way, Vladimir Valentinovich is thinking of making a picture of the changes that have taken place in Russian society over the past few decades. “We have not at all reflected this last twenty years in works of art. We exchanged cinema for some adventures of the new Russians, bandit shootings, but not for tectonic shifts that took place in the souls of people. I like living in an era of change. I am now writing a script related to this topic."
