Anna Chipovskaya: "People do not allow themselves to be happy"

Actress Anna Chipovskaya spoke about the continuation of the Thaw, filming with Yevgeny Mironov, cinema, theater and style in an exclusive interview with Cleo.

At the coffee shop where we made an appointment, Anna walked into a white T-shirt and blue Topshop jeans, a Dolce & Gabbana sand jacket and an unknown brand boots bought in Italy, with a black Chanel handbag.

No wonder she is called one of the most stylish actresses in Russian cinema. At the same time, she is also talented and today is literally snapped up.

- Anna, recently a fantastic film "Calculator" was released with you and Yevgeny Mironov in the lead roles. Tell us about this film work.

Initially, we are not a couple with the hero of Zhenya Mironov. But, of course, over the course of the action, the relationship between our heroes changes.

- It's a fantastic movie. Heroes - two people who happened to be in an alien prison. The two of them have to go through various difficulties in order to break free. The film was shot in Iceland. There are absolutely fantastic landscapes and very strange weather - now it is raining, in a minute hail, in another minute - the sun. But it seems to me that Zhenya and I have coped with it.

Initially, we are not a couple with the hero of Zhenya Mironov. But, of course, over the course of the action, the relationship between our heroes changes.

- What are your impressions of working with Eugene?

- Zhenya is an absolute child. When he has a day off, he goes and says: "My God, look what an amazing waterfall!" And how a child runs to this waterfall to be photographed: what cows, what banks, what streams … And when it comes to work, he is flint. He is a great partner for the simple reason that he deals not only with himself, but with you as well. A very generous person. Moreover, as for the scenes and the script, I simply have not seen a more corrosive, thoughtful person.

"Calculator"

- The film "Horoscope for Good Luck" with your participation is being prepared for release. Do you believe in horoscopes?

- I don't believe in horoscopes. But I believe in luck. And that love works wonders. This is a wonderful comedy about love. In this film, I starred with Sveta Khodchenkova, Dmitry Nagiyev, Dima Endaltsev. This is a film for those who believe in miracles.

- When Thaw hit the screens, you woke up famous. Remember how you felt then?

- After the "Thaw" I got a lot of all kinds of proposals. But I would not say that I slept and woke up famous. Probably, it is necessary to pay special attention to this, to wait … Since I have always treated such things calmly, I do - and, I hope, I will do - it somehow did not really affect me.

- They say they will shoot the sequel to The Thaw. How do you feel about this?

- Valery Petrovich Todorovsky said that the script is being written. And that he will shoot only if the script of the second part is cooler than the first. It is important for him - not to lower, but to raise the level.

- Why do you think TV shows have become fashionable?

- A smart viewer sees that TV shows began to be filmed according to excellent scripts, with high costs (including money), good artists began to work in this genre. It is also the most user-friendly format. People today live faster than other generations. These 40 minutes or an hour are the maximum for them. And the story is not over yet, and no one forced to spend three hours.

- In your free time, what TV shows do you watch?

- I love True Detective with Matthew McConaughey. He's just a masterpiece, I think. The same applies to the British "Sherlock" with Benedict Cumberbatch. Well, Game of Thrones, of course. I, like all fans, look forward to the sequel.

“I don’t think about it.

- Our generation is infantile. I am now 20 years old.

- Several years ago, you turned down the lead role in the movie "Hipsters". What was the reason for this decision?

- I am very attentive to the choice of roles. This was not my role. I have not regretted my decision.

- In one of your interviews, you said that theater is more important to you than cinema. What is the reason for this?

- If I choose between cinema and theater, I choose theater. At the expense of the material that is offered to play, because in our cinema they do not shoot practically what an artist can open up to and try himself. We have a very rare thing - a good script, and in the theater there is no shortage of material.

- What roles would you like to play?

- I really love Shakespeare, it is a pity that we rarely stage him. Shakespeare's female roles appeal to me.

- Now you are playing in the play "Three Sisters", in "Snuffbox". It is customary to talk about Chekhov in the theater with aspiration. Do you have a special relationship with the classics?

- I think that you need to grow up to Chekhov's plays. So far I am only on the way to this. Although I love his stories very much, letters are all small form. I read my collected works. However, his plays - this is a certain stage, they always seemed to me to be something very difficult for perception. Now, while working on the play, everything is different. I began to better understand the characters and the stories themselves.

- What, for example, did you understand about the play "Three Sisters"?

“It’s hard for women all the time in this play. Here they live-live-live, they want-want-want something, but nothing happens. Nothing at all. One can try to explain this by various kinds of circumstances and obstacles. But in reality they do not go to Moscow simply because they do not go. I wonder why people don't allow themselves to be happy? After all, everything is solvable, and no global catastrophes occur.

- What has impressed you lately in cinema and theater?

- I really liked Jim Jarmusch's film "Only Lovers Alive". I watched it a year ago, but it's still the best I've seen. The movie is wonderful, hypnotizing, meditative. Absolutely wonderful Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston (in my opinion, a very cool artist). And what a rhythm! Viscous, Dzharmushevsky. This is absolutely mine. And in the theater my last love is Eugene Onegin by Rimas Tuminas.

You are called one of the most stylish contemporary actresses. What do you think is your style secret?

- I'm not chasing fashion. There are no bright, trendy things in my wardrobe. It's more important for me to be stylish, not fashionable. This is probably my main secret.

I would not call myself a style icon, here is my friend, Ravshana Kurkova - she is perfect. Her style is impeccable. Ingeborga Dapkunaite is always beautiful. I really like the way Tilda Swinton dresses. I, of course, would not have chosen such androgynous images as she, but the brevity of her outfits is what attracts me.

- How would you describe your style?

- I love the relaxed style: I combine Topshop tees with Chloe sandals, Marni cardigans and Chanel bags. But I go out on the red carpet in full dress: in a Bohemique formal dress and Casadei heels.

The hit of my wardrobe is jackets and T-shirts. A jacket can do any look: with long or short sleeves, black or bright color, silk or tweed, it goes with everything.

T-shirts are a basic thing. I have a huge number of simple gray, black and white T-shirts that can always help me out.

- Do you like shopping?

- I cannot say that I am a shopaholic. But I love shopping. I try to buy things, of course, not in Moscow, because the prices here, and this is generally known, are draconian. I like Jil Sander, Marni, Michael Kors.

If I go shopping in Moscow, then I choose Leform stores, Tsvetnoy Central Market, which sell things of varying degrees of high cost, selected with taste. Buying clothes at TSUM is crazy if you don't have a map, but it's silly to deny that things are beautiful there … I also really like Sasha Terekhov's collections. And of course my favorite Bohemique. For the red carpet, I go to Bohemique. I really love this bohemian rock 'n' roll look.

Do you have a large wardrobe?

- Yes. A lot of basic things, a lot of individual things that fit me and my character.

But you don't have to have a large wardrobe to look stylish. It is important to learn how to combine things correctly. You need to look at fashionable glossy publications. I, for example, do not know how to combine things as fashion stylists do. Therefore, I try to memorize what they advise.

In clothes, I am for simple shapes: I like it when the dress is made in one color. It seems to me that it is very beautiful when a girl puts on a monophonic outfit of an interesting cut.

What clothes will you never wear?

- Ultra-trendy. In which every second girl walks and who does not have her own personality. Everything related to the SWAG style is not about me. Some girls are very comfortable with such clothes, but I have a slightly different vision of the world and myself.

Are you ready to change your style for the role in the film?

- I am in the cinema, I am in the theater and I in life are different people. In cinema and theater, I match the images of my characters. I'm ready to change my style, I'm ready to have a short haircut for a movie role. I was always interested to see how I would be with a short haircut. But I can't afford it yet. All the directors are begging me to keep my hair. Long hair is very convenient for shooting in historical pictures. You can do any hairstyle with them.

- How do you like to relax?

- I am a hedonist. In my free time I can sleep all day, I don’t recognize alarm clocks. I love nightlife, I love clubs, I love reading books - in general, I lead a bohemian lifestyle. Life changes as soon as you need to go to the stage or to the theater. At work I am a draft horse, there can be no question of any bohemianism. If there is no time for rest, then I work without interruption.

- What was the last book you read?

- The sparkling dystopia S. N. U. F. F. I read Viktor Pelevin voraciously - although it is great sobering. I love Pelevin.

- What makes you happy?

- Feeling of love and being in love.
