"Tell me what you eat and I'll tell you who you are." Turkish psychiatrist Nihat Kai recently published the results of his many years of research, during which the scientist was able to identify the interdependence of eating habits and mental state of a person. In particular, the psychiatrist claims, chocolate lovers experience an acute lack of love and attention.

Mr. Kai claims that chocolate fans at heart are lonely and unhappy people in whose lives there is a lack of love, pity, attention. And the nervous and aggressive prefer meat, especially beef. People with persistent problems are often not very picky about food and eat quite often. According to the expert, people who prefer mainly fruits and vegetables have a calm and balanced character.

In turn, you can understand for yourself some personality traits by observing a person's attitude to food. “Gourmand, as a manifestation of hedonism, speaks of the love of life, the desire for happiness, the desire to live brightly. Therefore, gourmets rarely suffer from depression. But food asceticism testifies to melancholy, depression and a certain apathy, because a person is not aimed at getting pleasure,”Oksana Deren, a psychotherapist of the Institute of Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology, comments to RBC daily.

Psychotherapist Vladimir Esaulov complements this picture: according to him, addiction to dairy products gives out the need for care, writes RBC daily. Milk is associated with the child's first food, and, accordingly, with that period of life when a person was surrounded by affection and attention. If you cannot imagine your meal without hot spices, it means that in life you do not have enough "pepper", that is. thrills. And the love for nuts and hard fruits gives out a constant desire to win.

Candidate of Psychological Sciences Alexander Makarov assures that there are even more subtle nuances. According to his theory, tomatoes in any form are preferred by generous and democratic people with a wide soul. Sensitive natures choose cucumbers, and those who lack courage and determination choose cabbage and beans. If a person eats exclusively vegetables, then he can be described as a compliant grumbling, succumbing to difficulties.

The most healthy and mentally balanced Makarov considers lovers of carrots and apples, but the scientist considers the admirers of sour, salty and pickled to be tyrants, although not always obvious.
