It is well known that the state of our health directly depends on the diet. And it's not just about blood circulation, digestion and general tone. The state of mind also not least depends on the quantity and quality of food consumed. Recently, Spanish scientists have made an interesting discovery in this area.

It is well known that following a strict diet spoils mood over time and increases fatigue. But if you get carried away with red meat and chocolate, then the risk of developing depression increases markedly.

Spanish scientists have closely monitored the diet and health of 15,000 volunteers for ten years. After analyzing all the collected data, experts came to the conclusion that depression and other psychological disorders were much more common among meat and chocolate lovers. As you know, red meat and chocolate have a stimulating effect on the nervous system, and as a result, lovers of meat and chocolate dishes were forced to take sedatives more often than others.

Recall that chocolate has long been considered an effective antidepressant.

However, several years ago, American scientists found that those who eat at least one bar of chocolate a week are more likely to become depressed than those who consume it occasionally.

According to experts, it is possible that people who have already fallen into depression begin to eat chocolate more actively to improve their mood, while not achieving the expected effect. The addictive effect is not excluded - chocolate can cause a short-term improvement in mood, but in the long term the situation only gets worse.
