Shooting of the new project of the First Channel "The Phantom of the Opera" continues. The essence of the show is that pop artists sing live arias from famous operas, operettas and musicals. Truly difficult tasks, unusual costumes, unexpected scenery, lack of a soundtrack - all this affects the final performance of the stars. A reporter from "Cleo" visited the set and saw which of the stars are inclined to be capricious before the performance, and who resignedly endure all the hardships of the operatic life.

Philip Kirkorov, Sergei Lazarev, Lev Leshchenko, Ani Lorak, Valeria not only had to sing live in front of the audience - an impartial jury assessed the artists to the fullest extent. Roman Viktyuk appreciated artistry, Lyubov Kazarnovskaya - performance, and Zurab Sotkilava - vocal skill.

- Is Bilan on stage? - whispered in the auditorium.

Dima stood modestly in the shadows, waiting for everything to be ready for his performance. On this day, the singer sang Christ's aria from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Jesus Christ Superstar". The artist, who has long become a fan of this composer, sang with all the strength of his vocal cords. In the middle of the song, from the power of his voice, the microphone suddenly turned off with a hysterical squeak.

- Change the batteries in the microphone, please, - the director's voice was immediately heard from the speakers.

- It's not a microphone! These are emotions! - Dima shouted.

The efforts of the star were not in vain - the jury members were satisfied. Roman Viktyuk, Lyubov Kazarnovskaya and Zurab Sotkilava scattered in compliments about Bilan's talent.

Valeria sang Maria Magdalena's aria from the same opera. And the result was the same as that of Bilan.

- Well, will they really not scold anyone? - whispered two spectators, who did not really like Valeria's performance.

Worried in vain: the next participant in the show was criticized to smithereens. And it was none other than the honored artist Lev Leshchenko.

- Today I say goodbye to my bachelor life! - with these words the artist began his performance.

Lev Valerianovich performed an aria from the operetta "My Fair Lady" by Bernard Shaw. He sang in Russian. This fact outraged Lyubov Kazarnovskaya to the depths of her soul.

- Why didn't you sing in English? You violated the terms of the assignment. In the author's native language, the aria sounds much more melodic.

- No, I didn’t, - objected Leshchenko, - I don’t sing in English, it’s you, opera artists, who have been rehearsing for months, and I only performed this part twice. Here you do not know where to go and what to do, but you also suggest that I sing in English.

- This is an eternal dispute, - said Kazarnovskaya. - You can, of course, sing "O solo mia" like "Dear Mom!"

- If I sang in English, the audience would not understand me. They did not hear everything about Bernard Shaw either.

- Why else? Are we all illiterate here? - indignant in the hall.

The situation became tense. Offended Leshchenko, despite loud protests from Kazarnovskaya, sang in Chinese "Moscow Nights".

Zurab Sotkilava also added fuel to the fire: “You are the same everywhere, it's time to forget about Victory Day.

As a result, immediately after the speech, Lev Valerianovich, referring to urgent matters, ran out of the theater, refusing to comment.

Philip Kirkorov, according to the good old tradition, made a whole story out of his appearance on the stage. To begin with, the king of pop demanded that the audience be cleared from the audience. Like, rehearsal is an intimate process, not for prying ears. And only after making sure that there was almost no one left in the hall, Philip entered the stage.

By the way, the singer was supposed to rehearse in the morning, but then some of the props had not yet been brought up.

“I will not rehearse in such conditions,” Philip said then. - Everything should be ready, - after which he turned around and left.

However, even in the evening his mood left much to be desired.

- Well, tell me where to go, what to do. Who is the director? You or me? - growled at the timid director Kirkorov. - Do I also have to direct? It is enough that I sing it all. What is it? Why isn't the light in full force? What kind of rehearsal is this? - he continued to be indignant.

In the end, Philip was also hoarse before the show. With the words “Doctor! Where is the doctor? - he disappeared backstage.

Part of the singer is understandable. During his rehearsal, there were indeed many inconsistencies. Either the light came on at the wrong time, or the orchestra began to play the wrong way. In addition, Kirkorov wanted to wear his favorite shoes to the suit, but the employee responsible for the safety of the shoes forgot to bring them. Philip ordered his driver to get the boots at all costs. But by the time the performance began, there were still no shoes. This time the Moscow traffic jams were "guilty". In order to perform in his favorite shoes, the artist delayed the beginning of the performance.

The pause was filled by the host of the project, Anton Makarsky.

Together with the director, they ran around the stage, laughed and danced like a kan, in order to somehow occupy the disgruntled spectators.

- What kind of disrespect for us? Outrageous! - grumbled two elderly ladies in the hall.

- Sorry for the hesitation, we have a very difficult artist performing now, - the director's voice sounded in the speakers. They all laughed.

When Kirkorov finally came out and sang Phantom's aria from The Phantom of the Opera, everyone forgave him. Philip performed magnificently. Everything was sustained: costume, manner of performance, scenery.

Hearing praise from the jury, the flattered king of pop smiled.

“Thank you for the brilliant organization, brilliant direction, excellent work of the costume designer,” he sneered. - Everything was done on time.

Due to the prolonged pause, other artists were tormented as well. Sergey Lazarev was especially unlucky. The singer that evening was one in two persons, he had to play two roles from the musical "Notre Dame de Paris". The left side of his tailcoat was sewn for the role of the priest Frolo, the right side for Captain Phoebus. Turning now one side or the other towards the hall, Seryozha portrayed two at once. It looked very impressive. The costume was difficult both for dressers and for the artist himself. He sewed directly on the bodysuit, so as soon as Seryozha put it on, he could no longer absent himself or even sit down. And while Philip was preparing for the performance, Lazarev frankly suffered.

Thank God everything ended well. Sergey performed with the maximum points. Extremely happy, the singer ran backstage, undressing almost on the go.

Ani Lorak suffered the most from the exuberant imagination of decorators. Her amazingly beautiful number was re-shot three times. No joke, only the hem of the singer's dress occupied the entire stage. The artist was asked to stand on a huge cube, and many bulbs were attached to the hem of her dress. In the middle of the number, Ani soared over the stage on cables. But it was also necessary to sing live. Of course, she was confused when she was suddenly pulled up for the first time. The second time there was an overlay: suddenly all the lights went out, the third time - the orchestra, infected with general confusion, unanimously burst out a melody from the wrong opera …

Lorak was already ready to cry, when suddenly everything worked out. The jury was satisfied.

I must say that the masters on this day were very complacent, and almost all the participants received the highest scores. We will be able to evaluate how the singers performed popular arias this Saturday, September 24th.
