Leontyev told how depression drove him to drunkenness

The state of depression made Valery think about leaving the profession. However, not for long.

Valery Leontiev turned 70 this year. Of these, the artist has been on stage for more than half of his life. His stage career is about 40 years old.

The artist admits that at the very beginning of the path and now, when his name is already widely known, he has to face various obstacles. Most often, these are failures in rotation marked "out of format".

Leontyev notes that surmountable difficulties always inspire and push to conquer new heights. However, there were periods in the singer's career when he did not understand at all why he was doing all this.

Refusals unsettled the artist so much that he wanted to completely forget about the stage. Then Leontiev found a way out of his depression. It was alcohol.

Now the singer admits that at one time he only multiplied the number of problems, but, thank God, he stopped in time. The man was saved from the addiction thanks to incredible willpower. Valery recalls that for four years he refused any offer to drink and did not even drink champagne.

The man notes that even now such bouts of despondency periodically roll over him, but he has learned to deal with them. At such moments, Valery prefers to be alone. The singer admits that being alone with himself in his case is constructive and allows him to find new creative ideas and solutions.
