Yes, deeply respected designers will forgive me - but sometimes they release something on the catwalks that not only you will never wear it yourself, but you also look from the outside and understand: no, mere mortals cannot comprehend such a fashion. For example, Bernard Willhelm, the author of the brand of the same name, at the show of his Fall / Winter 2006 collection last February in Paris dressed the models in what resembled camouflage robes and pajama pants, painted their faces with glitter paint and made a hairstyle on their heads "explosion on macaroni factory ".

It is better for such delights to stay where they belong, that is, on the catwalks. Runway fashion is a special style dictated, in addition to art, by purely technical considerations: to emphasize the overall style of the collection through the details, to choose the right color combinations so that the models do not merge in tone for the viewers of the far rows, to make the collection different from dozens of others that "pass" on the same podium. In life outside the catwalk, these principles also apply - for those who do not want to blend in with the crowd, but like to stand out.

1. An openwork sock under a summer sandal

As one of my acquaintances, an inveterate fashionista, said: "The most terrible thing that a woman can wear is the heirs." Unfortunately, in the summer this "beauty" is still worn by a good half of women of pre-Balzac age. Fortunately, ten footprints of universal flesh color come across one pair of lace socks, worn under the same summer sandals. This detail performs three functions at once: it protects the skin from calluses, warms the leg on a windy day and serves as a fashionable accessory.

2. Canvas bags "goodbye youth"

If France, then Emmanuelle Bear, if the Czech Republic, then the soldier Schweik, if Russia, then the Soviet Union! Each country has its own symbols, but the West is now experiencing fashion for the USSR. "I wonder why no one has yet released an alcohol called Lenin," my friend used to say. "The whole world knows him. The brand will be more recognizable than Harley Davidson."

One way or another, and the exhibition "Pure", held last week in London, presented a whole stand of rugged duffel bags with the Soviet logo, as well as in an emphasized military style, and put on caps and military belts on skinny models. Believe it or not - it looked very spicy with long flowing hair and hairpins.

3. Bijoux, bijou, bijou

In the coming autumn-winter season, softer tones will set the tone, which will replace the flamboyance of the outgoing summer. If a skirt with appliques or trousers with embroidery, then the top will certainly be plain and preferably lighter. This is where accessories come to the rescue. Bracelets in several rows, several beads, long earrings. Don't be afraid to overdo it! The brooches and large buttons that were so fashionable last spring are still in vogue today. Only now they have moved from lapels to bags and a belt of trousers. The only condition is that all this magical happiness must be costume jewelry. All the same in the variation of precious metals will make you look like a resident of friendly Turkey.

4. Pants to the knee

Better loose and short, like Carlson wore. Unexpected and unusual, but very fashionable. If your legs are not the most perfect part of you, then opt for cropped breeches. If the style nevertheless inexorably evokes associations with the Page Boy, such trousers look advantageous with high boots.

5. Scarf - the head of everything

Wear it anywhere, and if in the old fashioned way around the neck, then the tiny crevice between the collarbones should still remain open. If you are wearing a cap, tie a scarf around it. Slip the scarf into your jeans instead of a belt. Tie it over your head so that the knot falls somewhere just below the back of the head, and leave the ends falling over your back. This is for very brave girls. For the less daring, pull the knot down to the neck. A wonderful detail in our cool climate - fashionable, beautiful and covers the ears.

6. Knee-highs under boots

High boots are an essential fall accessory. Put on long knee-highs under them - and the most boring skirt, complete with the most ordinary boots, will look ultra-fashionable, piquant and stylish. Only knee-highs should be in a contrasting color. However, black ones (under a black bootleg) will also do if the dress code at work does not allow defiant colors. (picture 6)

7. Multi-colored tights

As you know, fashion is cyclical. Multicolored tights, unusually popular seven or ten years ago under the name "leggings", are back in favor for the last few seasons, and not just anywhere, but on the most famous catwalks in the world. Then they were worn with mini-skirts or a long sweater belted with a wide belt. It was an insidious accessory - it outlined every bend, so if on a slimness scale from 1 to 10 your legs did not reach at least seven, it was better to avoid it. Nowadays fashion is more democratic - bright tights perform the same function as a scarf around the neck - that is, accentuating details. Let red, orange, bright gray tights, or, even better, tights with a pattern, flicker in the cut of the skirt over high boots or peep out from under the hem of the leg - this is enough for the whole look to get rid of excessive classicism.

8. Extra high heels

Do you know what is the secret of the gait of fashion models? Try to put on 12 cm heels and walk in them. The heel falls into the category of high, starting from 7 cm, and on average does not exceed 10 cm. In high heels (for example, the fashionable model Mary Jane this season - with a thin strap around the ankle) it is simply impossible to walk without throwing up your knees and swaying, since the feeling, if not quite like on stilts, is quite close. Standing head and shoulders above yourself, the former, heelless, you will feel that the sea has become knee-deep to you. The purely aesthetic effect is undeniable - the higher the heel, the longer the legs, the more attractive their owner.

9. Improvised belt

Unlike men, we don't need to worry that without a good durable belt with a buckle and a row of holes, the trousers will simply fall off the waist. In women's fashion, the belt plays a 95% decorative role, and anything can become it. The field for maneuvers is especially wide if your favorite clothes are jeans. They are so diverse that a simple leather belt has already become a thing of the past. Any ribbon, any scarf, lace, chain, shawl tied at the hips, beads - technically anything that can be threaded into loops along the waist line or simply tied over. The conspicuous belt favorably emphasizes the narrow waist and flat stomach. You can also wear two belts at once.

10. Everything and more

The catwalks have their own laws - the models are worn one on top of the other, richly flavored with accessories, separately, it seems that not everything is combined, but the cumulative effect creates the impression that this is the only way to wear it. Try to move away from the traditional laws of combinatorialism and put on things that are close not so much in color, style, combination of patterns and fabric structure, but in your mood. To avoid the impression that you have dressed up in whatever you find good in the closet, add an expensive leather bag as an accessory.

Sarah Jessica Parker also recommends this: "To make it clear that no matter what life's ups and downs, you still care about looking stylish, don't skimp on bags."
