Do you think a little black dress is the epitome of elegance? Perhaps you `re right. However, if you are interested in the question "how to attract a man?", Then it is better to choose red shades. As psychologists have found out, a woman in red appears to a man prettier, more attractive and, as a result, desirable.
Scientists from the University of Rochester conducted a series of five psychological experiments to find out how color affects the relationship between men and women. 100 graduate students took part in the experiment of scientists.
They had to not only assess the attractiveness and sexuality of the women in the photographs, but also tell how they would spend the amount of $ 100 in the event of a hypothetical date. Participants in the experiment were shown a photograph in which the woman's blouse was red or blue. Moreover, in both images there was the same woman.
The study found that women in a red blouse or with a red outline around the edges of the photo seemed to men much more attractive and desirable than the same women, but with different colors of clothing.
“It was curious to know that an ordinary color can have such an influence on a man's behavior without him knowing it,” says Professor Andrew Elliot in a university press release.
Scientists believe that this effect is primarily due to social relations, although it has biological, evolutionary foundations. It is known that, for example, male primates, baboons and chimpanzees are also very partial to the scarlet color. Females show it during the best period for fertilization.
It turns out that no matter how smart and well-mannered modern men are when it comes to mating, they are still (to a certain extent) governed by primitive instincts. It should be noted that the color red affects men only in connection with the perception of the sexual attractiveness of women and does not in any way affect such characteristics as intelligence, kindness or cuteness.
