A multicooker saves a lot of time by helping to cook food faster. But when cleaning the bowl, problems arise: large 5-liter dishes with adhering fat and a persistent smell of a freshly cooked dish are poorly cleaned by hand. I would like to send the bowl to the PMM. But is it possible to wash a bowl from a multicooker Redmond, Panasonic and other firms in a dishwasher?

General rules

Multicooker bowls are made of aluminum, stainless steel and ceramic. Materials react differently to high temperatures and dishwasher detergents:

  1. Aluminum oxidizes and loses its appearance even at temperatures above 45 degrees. The outer surface of the bowl becomes cloudy.
  2. Stainless steel less sensitive to heat, but after several attempts to wash the bowl in the PMM it also begins to grow cloudy or darken.
  3. Ceramics - the most resistant material. It can withstand up to 10 cleaning cycles in a dishwasher, but after that the owner will begin to notice chips and frequent burning during cooking.

It turns out that, regardless of the material of the PMM bowl, it negatively affects the service life. But we must not forget about the inner coating.

It is even more sensitive than the bowl material itself. Teflon is often used for the non-stick effect. It does not tolerate high temperatures well, and abrasive detergents leave deep scratches. Already after the first wash, food in the multicooker may start to burn.

Washing bowls in PMM by brands

Each brand has its own characteristics: different materials and non-stick coatings are used. Therefore, differences arise in such an area as washing in the PMM.

Philips

It is not recommended to wash the bowl from the Philips multicooker in the PMM. The instructions indicate that this is prohibited. Even after 1-2 attempts, Teflon can peel off completely.

Bork

If you decide to wash the bowl from the Bork multicooker using the PMM, you should first check the instructions. Older models are not designed for such cleaning, but some new ones can be washed in the dishwasher. But the regime should be gentle: temperature up to 45 degrees, mild detergent.

Polaris

It is strictly not recommended to wash the bowl from the Polaris multicooker in the dishwasher. The cheap materials used to create the bowl cannot withstand critical temperatures for a long time. They are also badly affected by the use of tablets with powder for PMM.

Redmond

The multicooker of this brand is one of the most affordable. The bowl uses inexpensive materials that are sensitive to temperature and abrasive detergents. However, some owners state that it is possible to use the PMM when cleaning the bowl.

Panasonic

Some owners say that Panasonic bowls are cleaned in PMM without consequences, others dissuade. The answer to the question of whether it is possible to wash a bowl from a Panasonic multicooker in a dishwasher should be found in the instructions.

Moulinex

Can the bowl from the Moulinex multicooker be washed in the dishwasher? Owners who tried it strongly discourage it. Firstly, it is prohibited by the instruction. This prohibition can be found in the accompanying documents for the Moulinex CE502832 and many other models. Secondly, the material from which the bowl is made, after PMM, oxidizes and becomes cloudy. After 2-3 cleaning, Teflon begins to peel off.

How do I clean it by hand?

As you can see, the bowl should be cleaned only by hand (unless the PMM is allowed to be used in the instructions). In order for all contaminants to go away faster, it is enough to soak the container in warm water immediately after use. The adhering food debris can be easily removed after 15-20 minutes with a simple sponge. Grease can be removed well with conventional dishwashing detergents with an anti-grease effect.

Do not use metal sponges and brushes. Cleaning powders are also not suitable, only liquid non-abrasive products are allowed. It is impossible to pour cold water over a hot bowl or a cold hot one - Teflon does not react well to sudden temperature changes.

Bonus

The above information can be summarized as a short list of tips:

  1. Before sending the multicooker bowl to the dishwasher, you should carefully study the instructions for a particular model.
  2. If it is possible to clean the bowl by hand, this is the best option. So the Teflon coating is guaranteed to last longer.
  3. Additional accessories, for example, a steamer, can be cleaned in the PMM.
