1. If the school is taught in quarters, then approximately spring break will begin in the period from 22 to 28 March.
2. If schooling is organized by trimester, then for such students a start and end date for the holidays has already been determined. Schoolchildren will enjoy their spring break from April 5-11.

The holiday date can be postponed depending on the above reasons. In addition, during the holidays, the teacher reserves the right to invite the student to additional classes in a specific discipline.

But the decision to attend school in this case remains with the parents and the student. The child can refuse, and no one has the right to force him to change his decision not to go to the alma mater during the holidays.

How to determine the dates of the holidays for schoolchildren

At the moment, there is no information about how schoolchildren will have a rest in the next academic year. Detailed information on the schedule of lessons and the schedule of recreation for children will appear only by its beginning - by September 1, 2020. This is provided for by the law "On Education".

Parents have the right to change the dates of rest of schoolchildren, but for this there must be good reasons, with which the management of the educational institution cannot disagree. In this case, a statement is prepared addressed to the director, supported by the signatures of most of the parents.

When changing rest dates, the school's chief executive adheres to established standards:

• the minimum time for rest should not be less than 7 days;
• the transfer of the dates of the holidays is possible, but no later than two weeks from the official date of the beginning of the holidays in the region;
• compulsory compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards.

In general, it is beneficial for the school to adhere to the established framework for the rest of the students. On such days, there are more opportunities for organizing children's leisure: excursion programs, visits to museums, exhibitions, concerts and other specially organized events.

Holidays for schoolchildren in Moscow and St. Petersburg

It is generally accepted that in Moscow and St. Petersburg, schoolchildren are taught and rest according to a different system than in other cities of Russia. In fact, this is not the case.

In these cities, vacation dates are in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and regional departments. If there are no changes, then schoolchildren in Moscow and St. Petersburg will go on vacation on the following dates:

• autumn holidays - from October 19 to November 1, 2020 or from October 26 to November 1, 2020;
• winter holidays will last from December 28, 2020 to January 10, 2021;
• rest in spring will take place from 22 to 28 March 2021;
• summer holidays are the longest, lasting from May 31 to August 31.

The vacation schedule is approved individually in each educational institution by its director. In practice, vacation schedules rarely differ from those recommended by the ministry or education department.
