Cushman & Wakefield has reviewed the most expensive shopping streets in the world. According to this rating, Prague became the most attractive city for shopaholics. According to the results of the study, she took 18th place on the list. That is, it is here that you can go shopping and spend the minimum amount of money. And the first place in the ranking was taken by retail space, which is located on Fifth Avenue in New York. This is the most expensive shopping destination in the world!
According to RBC, Cushman & Wakefield conducted a comparative analysis of the rental rates of 233 retail corridors in 47 countries. According to the report, it became known that the most expensive street for shopping fans is located in New York. The cost of renting premises, affecting the high cost of goods, is 11,360 euros per square meter per year on Fifth Avenue. This prestigious street is followed by Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, where rents reach € 9,500 per square meter. The Champs Elysees were the third most expensive with a rental rate of 6,770 euros. In London, retail space is cheaper. A square meter in a store on New Bond Street costs the owners of prestigious boutiques 5,667 euros per year. And in Tokyo's Ginza district, rent is "only" 5486 euros.
Interestingly, the famous Parisian street Saint-Honoré and our Stoleshnikov lane were not included in the category of exemplary shopping places. The rating includes only the so-called shopping corridors - large streets with shops in the high, medium and medium-high price segment. So, it is on the Champs Elysees in Paris that the flagship store of Louis Vuitton, the large mono-brand GAP boutique and the newfangled Bally are located.
In Prague, there is the famous Prikop street, which leads from Wenceslas Square to Republic Square. It houses boutiques of such famous brands as H&M, Mango, ZARA, Salamander, United Colors of Benetton, Mexx, CottonField, C&A.
Moscow, in turn, although it regularly appears in the lists of the most expensive cities in the world, takes only 15th place in the Cushman & Wakefield rating. Rental rates in our most famous shopping corridor on Tverskaya Street are only 2,100 euros per square meter per year. Moreover, the range of prices in stores on Tverskaya is very significant: from the expensive "Parade" and Vicini to absolutely democratic Terranova and Benetton. Based on the results of this study, trade margins in Moscow should not be that high. It turns out that making purchases abroad is much more profitable for residents of Russia than at home.
