Duchess Kate struck the audience with royal diamonds

Girls' best friends are diamonds. And the Duchess of Cambridge is no exception. The day before, Her Serene Highness appeared in all its splendor at the Portrait Gala 2014 reception at the National Portrait Gallery in London. This time, Kate, who usually prefers democratic outfits and jewelry, amazed the audience with a luxurious diamond necklace.

The Duchess just recently returned from Mustique Island, where she was vacationing with little Prince George, but has already taken up her secular duties. At a gallery reception (Kate is curator of the institution), Her Serene Highness appeared in a chic Jenny Packham neckline silk evening gown and stunning diamond jewelry.

A lot of eminent persons gathered at the Portrait Gala reception. Famous artists, famous photographer David Bailey, actors Alan Rickman and Elizabeth Hurley were here. The Duchess talked nicely with the guests, made a couple of neutral jokes and made a short speech.

According to British publications, Kate borrowed a luxurious diamond necklace from the Queen. And Elizabeth II (Elizabeth II) jewelry from Cartier was presented in 1947 by the ruler of the Indian principality of Hyderabad (which existed until 1948) in honor of her wedding anniversary. Now Her Majesty occasionally appears in a necklace in public.
