The creators of the New Wave music competition are preparing for a new spectacular show. As you know, this year the event will be held in Sochi for the first time, and not in summer, but in autumn. Also today it became known the exact place of performance of the contestants.
The "New Wave" competition for young pop singers will be held at the Northern pier of the seaport of Sochi, and not in the Olympic Park, as previously planned. “It became known yesterday during the first meeting of the organizing committee of the international competition for young pop singers. The square will be equipped with a stage, spectator seats and everything necessary to hold the event at the highest level. Work on its preparation will begin in September,”the city administration said in a statement.
The organizers believe that the site at the Northern Pier will be in no way inferior to the capabilities of the Olympic Park. The stage show is planned to be broadcast at the Live Site of the South Mall. And the nearby cafes will be recommended to turn down the music during this period so that the city can hear the songs of the "New Wave".
Unfortunately, the famous Latvian composer and one of the organizers of the competition, Raimonds Pauls, will not come to the event in Sochi this year. “No, I will not participate. I have to prepare: I have some things to do in January. I will not go anywhere, I will be in Riga until January,”the maestro told reporters.
As a reminder, the music festival is scheduled for October 2-11. The show will be combined with the Russian Formula 1 round, which will take place from 8 to 11 October.
This year, 16 performers from 12 countries will perform in the final of the competition. Russia is represented by: Oleg Sidorov, Kamila Izmailova, Tatiana Shamanina.
