We all know that in order to maintain a slim figure, you should not indulge in high-fat foods. According to current norms, the proportion of fat should not exceed 10% of the daily diet. However, as Danish scientists have found out, in fact, everything is not so simple.

Today, some scientists compare the aging process with a kind of disease. The fact is that in the human body, the process of repair is going on all the time - the restoration of damage to the DNA of the cell. With age, the process is disrupted.

Fats are carriers of a number of biologically active substances necessary for the normal assimilation of calcium, magnesium, carotene, fat-soluble vitamins. It is worth considering that the results of numerous studies show that when fats are excluded from food or when they are lacking, the process of protein synthesis is disrupted and even immunity decreases.

Scientists at the University of Copenhagen observed mice with a congenital defect in the repair system (called Cockane's syndrome) and found that a high-fat diet slowed down aging-related processes such as hearing impairment and weight loss.

According to the pros, one of the most important factors determining the value of fats should be considered the ability of their constituent fatty acids to ensure the synthesis of structural components of cell membranes.

As experts explain, the human brain satisfies its need for energy with the help of sugar or ketones - chemical compounds that the body can use as reserve energy sources. Moreover, ketones are formed precisely during the breakdown of fats. And, apparently, thanks to ketones, the aging process of the brain can be slowed down.
