At the end of last week, the fashion elite moved from New York to London. By tradition, Fashion Week has started in the capital of Britain, which is known for the fact that it is here that new names are discovered. However, for the time being, the public is delighted with their new collections mainly by “old men”. Collections from Vivienne Westwood, Matthew Williamson, Burberry Prorsum and others have already been presented.

Vivienne Westwood, without betraying herself, made a real theatrical show. On the catwalk one could see unusual patterns, asymmetrical cut, multi-colored hair, eclectic hats, knee-highs, a cage.

The main theme of the show by Matthew Williamson remains prints, which at one time brought the brand worldwide fame. The designer embodied the autumn-winter theme in jackets and fur jackets and coats. Many of the brand's outfits are embellished with feathers or fringes. The color palette of the fall-winter 2011 collection is presented in shades of blue, red, orange and brown. According to fashion publications, Matthew Williamson's collection was inspired by the work of Russian avant-garde artist Francisco Infante.

At yesterday's Burberry Prorsum fashion show, the stars were in full swing: Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth and Rachel Bilson, Anna Wintour and Daisy Lowe. They were joined by the first lady of the country, Samantha Cameron, who now regularly attends the most spectacular shows.

Christopher Bailey, skillfully combining classics and innovation, dedicated his new works to the British actress, the star of the 60s Jean Shrimpton. It was she who once introduced the fashion for mini-skirts, voluminous sweaters and "doll" short coats, which, in fact, abounded in the designer's autumn-winter collection. By the way, backstage at the show, the fashion designer said that Shrimpton was involved in a Burberry ad campaign, so he said, “we have something in common with her.”
