In the new project, the celebrity will play 24 personalities at once in one. DiCaprio will star in Crowded Room, which is based on the story of Billy Milligan, who suffered from multiple personality syndrome.

According to rumors, the actor dreamed of getting this role for almost 20 years. And finally, DiCaprio's Appian Way company will be engaged in the production of the picture. The date of the premiere has not yet been announced, but fans of the celebrity believe that Leo finally had a real chance to showcase his talent to the maximum and, possibly, finally get an Oscar statuette.

The Crowded Room will be a screen version of Daniel Keyes's 1981 book The Multiple Minds of Billy Milligan.

It is worth noting that the book is based on real events, and Billy Milligan is today considered the most famous person with a diagnosis of "multiple personality" in the history of psychiatry. In the late 1970s, Milligan was tried on charges of several robberies and three rapes, but his lawyers denounced their client's insanity, claiming that two of his alternate personalities had committed these crimes without Milligan's knowledge. The defendant had 24 full-fledged personalities, and 10 of them were the main ones: Bill Milligan (main personality), Arthur, Reygen Vadaskovinich, Allen, Tommy, David, Christine, Christopher, Adalana (lesbian girl), Denny. As a result, the man was acquitted, but sent for psychiatric treatment.

At the same time, Billy Milligan became the first person acquitted during the trial due to the diagnosis of "multiple personality". After ten years of treatment in a psychiatric clinic, Milligan was declared recovered and released.
