Chests full of gold, diamonds and pearls lurk in distant tropical islands. This image will never fail to inspire filmmakers. Look - another "Treasure Island" will hit theaters from September 20.

Director Alain Berberian did not philosophize for a long time about the plot: a very long time ago, a treasure was buried on one of the Antilles. It lay for centuries until the 18th, when one gallant team needed money. Do you recognize? The characters are our old acquaintances from adventure books and films: a one-legged pirate, a fearless young man, a drunkard doctor and a shameless baroness. Looking at the French version of the adventures of "childhood friends" from the works of Robert Louis Stevenson is even more pleasant because the cast is the color of French cinema: Gerard Junot, Alice Taglioni, Jean-Paul Rouve and Vincent Rotier.

- It is real happiness when you have the opportunity to manage the world, which is completely different from reality. I've always been a big fan of Riot on the Bounty with Marlon Brando. - says Alain Berberyan. And he immediately admits - "Treasure Island" is a rather irreverent interpretation of Stevenson's novel! Indeed, we did something very original … The language is French, but everything looks extremely English, which I am very proud of. Unlike American cinema, we do not have a rigid division between good and bad. We are all bad! And then, we touch on such topics as cannibalism, homosexuality, cynicism … However, the result is quite family-like, and this is another advantage of our picture.

A universal film for teenagers, parents, and couples in love.

And one more thing: the French picture confirmed one of the apt observations of modern critics: the smaller the budget, the subtler the humor. Another "Treasure Island" turned out to be really funny. Unlike a bunch of multi-million dollar projects that amaze with a bright picture, but poor in good language and humor.
