This August marks half a century since the death of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe. The mysterious circumstances of the death of the actress are still being discussed with interest by the public. And they decided to take advantage of this at the "dream factory". Now the shooting of the film is being discussed, the plot of which is the investigation of the causes of Marilyn's death.

Winkler Films has acquired the film rights to Jim I. Baker's novel The Empty Glass. The plot of the book revolves around the young coroner Ben Fitzgerald, who arrives at the luxurious Monroe mansion in Los Angeles and finds the body of the actress.

Recall that films about Monroe are usually of great interest. Last year, 7 Days and Nights with Marilyn was well received by the public, and starring Michelle Williams won a Golden Globe and was nominated for Academy Awards and BAFTAs.

Fitzgerald was one of the first to be in the house of the famous actress on August 5, 1962, he discovered her diary, thanks to which he learns that Marilyn had an affair with a certain man whom she calls exclusively "General". The coroner intends to conduct his own investigation. But the deeper he delves into the essence of the matter, the more he understands that the death of a Hollywood star is just one link in a chain of terrible events.

The book harmoniously intertwined as well-known facts about the life and death of a star, and various theories associated with the mafia, the secret government service and President Kennedy.

According to producer David Winkler, the adaptation of Baker's novel is definitely a successful venture. “Empty Glass is like a script written by Billy Wilder. It has suspense, unexpected plot twists and dramatic moments - it will attract great directors, and well-written dialogues - amazing actors."
