Whatever you say, but the first year is akin to the first class. It even feels like: so many new, not entirely clear and familiar things begin to happen around - it's just a nightmare. Instead of the usual lesson, some"

Here are some classic rules that you can follow to make your studies easier. "Classical" because they have been passed on by word of mouth for many generations of students. And if for some reason you haven't heard them yet, then it's time to fill this gap.

The golden rule of the novice student: for the first year and a half, you work for the record-book, and the rest of the time - the record-book for you. What does this mean practically, you guess? Quite right: the first year (and in some universities - two) will have to try. It is not necessary to strive to get only fives. But a student's record without triplets in 9 cases out of 10 guarantees that they will not appear in the remaining time until the end of the studies. You know, teachers love to flip through the classroom books in exams. And the "floated" students answering to the ticket, C grade students, as a rule, are knocked down, and good students and excellent students, on the contrary, are pulled out. Our teacher in social psychology of personality, for example, pulled all the veins out of us in the first two years. At the exam we were so tempted that she could neither spy, nor ask, let alone write off. And before Gosami she said that everyone can bring textbooks and cheat sheets to the exam. We were almost speechless from such generosity.

Seminars and workshops (laboratory, control and others like them) is sacred. You don't have to go to lectures (if they don't keep track of attendance, and you know who you can copy everything from later), but you just can't skip practice and seminars. First of all, because this is your pass to the problem-free passing of the relevant exams. Even just your diligent presence at seminars (all the more so if you choose a place in the field of view of the lecturer) can greatly raise you in the eyes of the teacher. And if you are not too lazy to make a couple of reports, you are guaranteed an A in the subject. By the way, there are quite a few teachers who are ready to give tests and exams "automatically" for such diligence. Take my word for it, once a week to sit for a couple of hours at a boring seminar and a couple of times to give a report on abstracts ripped from the Internet is much easier than bothering to prepare for exams during a session. And there is no guarantee that you will not fail the exam, in the second case.

Careful with the swaboda The transition from school to university for many is associated with a sense of freedom. Especially if the university you entered is a few hundred kilometers from your parents. In student jargon, this euphoric state of the freshman is called "Shvaboda." How is it expressed? When control on the part of elders disappears, a child who has escaped from care has a lot of temptations to try "all earthly joys." First of all, this is reflected in the attendance of lectures and seminars. And there is no need to talk about different bad habits. One of my acquaintances before entering the university was an excellent student with an authoritarian, protective mother. However, he barely finished the university. And by the time he received his diploma, he was smoking like a steam locomotive and did not miss a single student drinking. In general, it is worth thinking about using the suddenly drawn "swaboda" in an adult way, and not as a baby who has grasped her mother's breast.

Make contacts with "senior comrades" Who, if not senior students, will tell you about the weaknesses and shortcomings of all the teachers with whom you have to deal? For example, I wouldn’t have to answer the pedagogy exam for 5 hours in a row if I had learned in time about the “leaps” of my teacher: it turns out that it was in her nature to “take revenge” in this way on students who missed seminars (for each pass - plus one hour of trouble for exam). She was a lonely woman, and she had a lot of time on this matter.

Develop a system of contractions Moreover, if you did not practice lectures at your school. Teachers don't like to dictate: they just tell them. But I did not have time - this is your problem. By the way, a voice recorder for recording lectures will not help either. Honest sellers of this technique will popularly explain to you that it will not be possible to make a legible recording of the lecturer's voice in the audience if you do not sit next to him and hold the recorder in front of his mouth, no matter how expensive and sophisticated it may be. This is absolutely true, I checked. So, the only way is to immediately come up with abbreviations of the most frequently used words in the subject: then note-taking after a fluent teacher will go faster. Moreover, the symbols for abbreviation should be as simple as possible in execution. And do not forget to compose a dictionary of abbreviations at the end of the notebook - suddenly you will forget, or you will let your classmate use it (so as not to torture you with questions about what is what).

In general, good luck to you, student!
