Leviathan won the Best Foreign Film Award. Recall that in May, at the Cannes Film Festival, the film interpretation of the story of the biblical character Job was awarded the Best Screenplay award. At the same time, the film "Miracle" by Italian director Alice Rohrwacher, which won the Grand Prix in Cannes, was named the best film by an aspiring director in Munich. By the way, Zvyagintsev's new masterpiece will be released in September.

As the director told reporters, despite the many obscene phrases that violate the new law banning profanity, the film will not be re-edited. “The picture in the montage will not change. We may have to "shut up" non-normative remarks. That is, somehow remove them from the sound. Now the lawyers of Non-Stop Production are studying the new law, trying to find opportunities for the film to be shown on the screens of the country in the author's version,”said the filmmaker.

The Audience Award went to Oliver Haffner for The Messenger from Heaven, and the award for Best Children's Film went to Nil Leana Vollmar's German film Rico, Oscar and Pasta Detectives.

As the media clarify, the Munich Film Festival has been held since 1983, is the second largest in Germany after the Berlinale and is considered an important meeting place for representatives of the film industry and the cinematic press of Europe and the world. This year, the film forum kicked off on June 27, and about 160 films from more than 50 countries were presented to the public. According to the organizers, this year the festival was attended by a record number of moviegoers - about 75 thousand people.
