Doctors are sounding the alarm - recently, women have taken a great interest in alcoholic beverages on a par with men. According to British researchers, the situation threatens to worsen in the near future.

According to experts, the addiction to alcohol among women, which has been increasingly exacerbated in recent years, is a rather alarming signal.

As you know, the family plays an important role in female alcoholism. As the researchers note, the intensity of alcohol consumption by a woman increases if at least one family member drinks 2-3 times a month. We are also interested in the scientific interdependence of alcohol and smoking - over 70%; family conflicts - among women it is 46%, among men - 28%. The responsibility of both sexes is especially serious in connection with the influence of alcohol on the offspring. A daily intake of 150 grams of alcohol increases the risk of fetal damage by 50%.

Scientists have long assumed that men may be more resistant to the effects of alcohol than women.

According to Russian scientists, if ten years ago the average alcoholic was 40-42 years old, then the current one is about 20. In total, the number of girls and women who drink has increased by 3.5 times.

German scientists also spoke about the danger of female alcoholism, who argue that women are much more susceptible to alcohol-induced brain damage than men. According to the results of brain scans of 150 volunteers, it was found that female alcoholics lose the same amount of brain matter as drunken men, but in a shorter period of alcohol dependence. Lead researcher Professor Karl Mann says that although men tend to drink more, women are more likely to become addicted to alcohol and the effects on them are more likely to occur.
