Analysts predict that over the next couple of years, fashion power will be in the hands of women in their 30s. Michele Obama's favorite Jason Wu has taken this moment into account. His last night's New York Fashion Week show was opened by the inimitable Carolyn Murphy.

Carolyn, 39, was nearly twice the age of most of her fellow fashion models. But today it doesn't matter at all. Unless only Carolyn can look like a true queen in a mini dress with leather inserts.

Most experts predict that black will be in vogue again in the coming season. And most likely in combination with red. Almost all leading designers will present black dresses, black trousers and black jackets in their range of models. New York Fashion Week runs until September 13th.

Anna Wintour, Tyson Beckford and Emily Mortimer watched the Murphy fashion show with great interest. And it seems that the rest of the models did not make such a great impression on the critics.

As for the new collection of 29-year-old Jason, despite the abundance of black (which is somewhat unusual for the spring-summer season), the reviewers came to a unanimous opinion: great.

Wu himself was quick to tell that he worked on models with an eye to the work of famous photographers Helmut Newton and Lillian Bassman.

“I tried to combine provocative sexuality and luxury in haute couture clothing,” the designer told the Washington Post. "These are two completely different styles, and I had to work hard to find at least some balance between sexuality and sophisticated sophistication."
