Modern women are increasingly getting rid of the name "weaker sex". For example, scientists have dispelled another, and fairly stable myth about the female nature - we are not at all as talkative as people think. More precisely, modern girls speak no more than young people.

American psychiatrist Luan Brizendin came to the conclusion: girls are much more talkative than guys, as they speak 13 thousand more words a day. However, the explanation for this phenomenon is quite respectful - it turns out that in women during a conversation, more brain cells are activated and they begin to experience excitement from the sounds of their own voices. In addition, according to Dr. Brizendin, there are advantages to this: talkativeness helps to express your emotions and relieve tension. And the male brain cells responsible for "talkativeness" block the hormone testosterone, which also reduces the ability to listen carefully.

Experts from the University of Arizona in America have come to the conclusion that it is not the field, but the character of each person. They calculated that women pronounce an average of 16,215 words a day, and men - 15,669. This difference is not significant when you consider that the difference between the most talkative and the least silent in the group of test participants was 45 thousand words. The researchers clarified that these results do not apply to everyone, since the work was carried out with people of the same social group and about the same age - university students.

Psychologists working with couples have come to the same conclusions, but with some refinements. For example, the American psychologist Dr. Paula Hall sees the main problem not in the fact that someone speaks more or less, but in how well the person is able to listen. If women listened more, men would have the opportunity to speak more, and if men listened better, they would understand that women do not always say stupid things. Here's another proof of how difficult, but still possible, to build a harmonious relationship with the opposite sex.
